One good thing I like about this new internet contraption,is that you can read about things all over the World. And that includes Newspapers, they love a bit of doom and gloom, muck raking, setting people against each other. The best way to do that is mention large sums of money, always gets people talking, especially the tight gits, normally the ones who have a few bob are the worst.Which brings me around to my reason for posting this,it was alledged on here that an incident occurred in Guernsey, that may prevent CCL Clubs having a nights stay in the lovely Isle, being normal human beings we all think the worst.Papers get most of their stories/reports from internet sites,ie Football related,so putting 2 and 2 together nothing major happened in Guernsey, reason the Guernsey Press have not reported anything. The CCL have sent out an E.Mail telling all Clubs not to comment on it,comment on what may I ask,LAZARUS we live in a democracy, where Free Speech is a given right.Maybe you could explain your reasons for doing this?

The CCL and probably every other league will probably send out a few emails a year just for club secretaries. No-one has the right to know what's in these emails just as no-one has the right to know the details of your last conversation on the phone, how much you've got in the bank, your medical records, the size of your penis, etc.

You have the right to divulge this information if you wish, you have the right to keep it secret or pass it on to one or two trusted aquaintances if you wish.

And there is no such thing as free speech in this, or any other country. It is illegal to say some things in public such as inciting hatred or violence and there are laws which cover slander and libel.

Well seeing as you ask VP, do you want it in inches or feet?

VPCTFC,please do not preach to me about the Law,Whitelaw,Lazurus,Alan Constable the CCL Secretary has already in my eyes prejudged the situation in his eyes.Reason by his Comments to the Guernsey Press. This has never happened in CCL BEFORE,he also states he has not had a reply from Croydon yet to the Complaint by Guernsey FC,SO HOW CAN HE MAKE THE REMARKS BEFORE HE GETS A REPLY.Bit like me alledging you have a small penis, the powers that be accept my comments, but when you reply you slap your big monster on the Table. The case falls on its face.CLUBS,leagues, love the press, until they see the printed word then they wish they had never spoken to them FACT.I do realise that you are probably known to all at the CCL,SO YOU TOW THE LINE,LIKE THE REST.Unfortunately I am a different breed if things are Fair/Honest no comment from me,but if I do not think they are,I will contest the norm, with no fear of any LAW SUITS.Bit like when you go into the bar after the game, all the talk is about a crap Ref,5 bookings for your Team, then the Club Secretary marks him up at 65,to save himself the trouble of writing a complaint to the League.HE HAS NO RIGHT TO MOAN ABOUT REFEREES AGAIN,BECAUSE HE DESERVES WHAT HE GETS.

Everything in that post is absolute rubbish.

You're prejudging what I think and what our secretary does again.

And you're wrong again.

If you think I'm the type of person who toes the line you haven't got a clue about me either inside or outside football.

Stop putting yourself up as some kind of rebel without a cause.

I have become an avid reader of the Guernsey Press, the overiding thing that comes across from the inhabitants comments is foremost the Spending of States Money on non important changes.Second on the list is Nimbyism,so cannot for the Life of me,think that putting a 6ft Fence round their National Stadium(Footes Lane) will ever get planning permission.I think there would be a Public outcry from the Locals if they knew this was going to happen.Maybe the Guernsey Press would like to test the water,by posting an article in their paper,to see what response it gets. I Cannot believe that a very well run Club like Guernsey FC,had not sought the help of others, who know about the Ground Grading Required to climb the Pyramid, when starting out on their Bold Venture.Maybe Locals would like to share their views on here,so the water can be tested.

I'm confused. How would you measure your bank account in inches? :)

Smudge, your call of describing NIMBYism as being alive and well in the island is not an unreasonable comment.

I would be very surprised in both the short and longer term that Footes Lane would be ever enclosed by fencing to fulfil the FA requirements.

The local planners historically tend to be conservative and have frequently declined applications on the basis of being 'incongrous with the surroundings'.

This is why I expect some form of compromise with Bels and a ground share at the Track, - for old boys like me, the Track is where football at the top end of the local game should be played and not at an athletics stadium.

Now whether this would be acceptable to the football authorities given the above posts is open to question but I honestly cannot envisage a scenario where the custodians of GFC have not given the issue we are discussing some forethought before it becomes a significant issue.

I may be a million miles away from reality but a move to the Track is something I would welcome.

A few of the Fans in the Island of Guernsey are asking Questions about their Ground Grading issues.

Lack of Communication from the Club seems to be the biggest concern, they are a Community Club after all.

One poster mentions the R word if the improvements are not done.

Groundsharing at The Track even mentioned.

Having never been to Footes Lane would it need much work to get it up to Step 4 Level, think it would be ok for Step 5 though.

Some hard of hearing fans are moaning they cannot hear the Tannoy System, lucky to have one!!!!

One Fan even talks of a wasted Season especially after the price hike in Season Ticket Prices, which this season does not include CLUB MEMBERSHIP this year like it did last.

They must be VERY deaf ! our tannoy system is brilliant. Its clearer and louder than all the premier league grounds I've visited. I recommend they visit a hearing specialist !
