Large
First round of the Premier Cup on Saturday week. There doesn't seem to be many (if any) interesting ties, although I'm sure there will a shock result or two. So what's caught your eye?
Large
A pretty good day in all for the Olympian sides in the Essex Saturday Premier Cup on Saturday. Almost all teams went through. Div 1's Runwell had a great win against the Prem's Harold Wood. As did Div 3's Toby against Div 1's Canning Town. One of last season's finalists is already out. The defending champions Newbury Forest breezed through with a hammering of the Essex & Suffolk Border's Clacton United, whilst Stambridge fell at the first hurdle against another Essex & Suffolk Border's team, Arlesford Colne. Date of round two is 3rd November.
Large
Another big weekend for Essex Saturday Premier Cup fixtures. Large
PREMIER DIVISION 0-2 Aldborough Athletic vs Frenford Senior 2-3 Old Barkabbeyans vs Buckhurst Hill 3-8 Chingford Athletic vs Hannakins Farm 3-0 Harold Hill vs Westhamians 3-5 Hutton vs Gas Recreation 0-4 Grays Athletic Res vs Kelvedon Hatch 1-2 Colne Engaine & Bell United vs Manford Way 3-0 M & B Club vs Leigh Ramblers 1-11 Bradfield Rovers vs Southminster St Leonards 1-4 Foxash Social vs White Ensign SENIOR DIVISION ONE 5-3 Ongar Town vs Brightlingsea Regent Res 0-1 AET Runwell Hospital vs Galleywood 1-3 Ryan F.C. vs Newbury Forest 2-5 Broomfield vs Springfield 1-9 Heybridge Swifts Res vs Wadham Lodge SENIOR DIVISION TWO 2-5 Broomfield vs Springfield 2-3 Leytonstone United vs Tiptree Jobserve 3-0 M & B Club vs Leigh Ramblers 2-3 Old Barkabbeyans vs Buckhurst Hill 1-3 Ryan F.C. vs Newbury Forest 2-3 Upminster vs Lawford Lads SENIOR DIVISION THREE 6-5 AET Alemite Athletic vs Basildon Town 3-1 Dedham Old Boys vs Catholic United 3-8 Chingford Athletic vs Hannakins Farm 7-2 Debden Sports Club vs Coggeshall Town 7-2 Shenfield Association vs Gosfield United 2-5 Barnston vs Toby STILL TO BE PLAYED Benfleet vs Tilbury Res Herongate Athletic vs St Clere’s Generally another good day at the office for Olympian sides in the ESPC. Of the 30 sides that played on Saturday 17 progress to the third round. I know this figure doesn't sound as great as I suggest, but 8 of the 13 sides that lost were knocked out by other teams from our league. Over half of the teams currently in the final 32 are Olympian sides, with the possibility of another two more joining if Benfleet and Herongate are succesful on Saturday. Large
It's Premier Cup weekend again on Saturday, and the Olympian still has 19 teams in the final 32. Unfortunately there are a seven all Olympian ties in this round, but a good weekend could see 12 sides progress into the last 16. The games that our sides are involved in are; Wadham Lodge vs Tollesbury Alresford Colne Rangers vs Frenford Senior Harold Hill vs Kelvedon Hatch Lawford Lads vs Buckhurst Hill Toby vs West Bergholt Springfield vs Newbury Forest White Ensign vs Shenfield Association Herongate Athletic vs Manford Way Hannakins Farm vs Benfleet Ongar Town vs M & B Club Debden Sports Club vs Galleywood Southminster St Leonards vs Little Oakley Debden, Shenfield and Toby all fly the flag for Div 3, defending champs Newbury Forest are away to Spingfield (who knocked Forest out of the Senior Division Cup at the beginning of the season), and Herongate will fancy their chances against an out of form Manford side. Large
As good a weekend as possible with the ESPC results on Saturday for the Olympian League. Five games were played against opposition from other leagues and all were won by Olympian sides. Result of the day has to go to Div 3’s Toby who battered the 2009/10 cup winners West Bergholt. Wadham Lodge also had a great result against Tollesbury. Hannikins Farm comfortably won against Benfleet, which sets up a choice tie away to current cup holders Newbury Forest who progressed after a narrow victory over fellow Div 1 side Springfield. All results involving Olympian sides were; PREMIER DIVISION 1-3 Lawford Lads vs Buckhurst Hill 1-2 Alresford Colne Rangers vs Frenford Senior 5-2 Hannakins Farm vs Benfleet 3-2 Ongar Town vs M & B Club 3-0 Southminster St Leonards vs Little Oakley DIVISION ONE 5-2 Hannakins Farm vs Benfleet 3-2 Ongar Town vs M & B Club 1-2 Springfield vs Newbury Forest 5-0 Wadham Lodge vs Tollesbury DIVISION THREE 5-1 Toby vs West Bergholt STILL TO BE PLAYED Debden Sports Club vs Galleywood Harold Hill vs Kelvedon Hatch Herongate Athletic vs Manford Way White Ensign vs Shenfield Association
