Bollocks!!

Sorry!

Thought we did ok first half. Created a couple of decent chances (trust me, the way we've been going lately, that's an achievement!). Second half was definately a prime example of the way we have been performing recently.

We just can't get the ball and hold onto the fecker. And if we do get it, we give it away very cheaply.

We scrapped out the win and boy are we bloody relieved.......

Good luck for the rest of the season guys. As usual, 'Ricay was a decent trip, everyone was good to us and the burgers edible.

Hope you can turn it around soon.

PS. St Albans shipped 9 tonite. A starting point for you lot methinks?

Nice one Taz...You have just condemned us with your comments about "starting point against St Albans" haha - Thought we did more than enough to get minimum a draw..Ref was auful, but at the end of the day if a team cannot put the ball in the back of the net then that team ain't gonna win games....Marlon should have been on from the start - but he still seems short on confidence to actually really run at a defender...We hit the bar !! Huffed and puffed, but no disrespect to anyone..This season I have not seen any real outstanding teams...So what is that beginning to make us look like.

I was talking to a sutton fan during the game and he said apart from Canvey and Bognor, we were one of the better teams they have played. Last night was a simple case of we couldnt score. Why little Russ keeps getting taken of is a mystery to me. the sutton fan i was talking to was more than relieved when he saw him go off. We had no real creative play in midfield again, infact if there is still a week area for us its out inability to grab a game by the scruff of its neck and win the mid field battles.

I thought our new number 4 was superb last night. His touch and control, not to mention his passing was faultless. Reddington looked like he was seriously struggling after the game and i reckon on sat we will see russ play at the back with the new fella which could work well.

For those who have been saying boot Justin out, and if you were at the game last night (which seems unlikely as the attendence was truly shameful), what more can Justin do? i thought some of his substitutions were a little odd but its not Justins fault we cannot hit a cows [****!!****] with a big banjo.

Ten nil against stalebuns on sat then??

The game changed when little Russ was taken off, he was having a shocker. His replacement put the necessary spark into the team and actually started to get the ball into the area, unfortunately, much of the time we were outnumbered three to one. Shirley and a surprisingly slothful Ansell were never going to carry out the required up-and-down run-of-the-mill midfielder work, neither could be arsed. Big Russ, as usual full of endeavour, was also very disappointing. Right, I'd better balance that with some positives, the new No. 4 looked very good, had a lot to say for himself and backed it up with his feet, Hansenesque I thought, Taylor was steady, Reddington solid and Jones/Hockton lively, although there's a suspicion of a Connolly/Defoe type syndrome between them i.e. will they ever pass to each other?. I'd like Dormer back asap

The last twenty minutes was the most exiting we've had for a while, a little more composure and I think we could have nicked the game. For what it's worth I'm standing by Justin to get this right.

Well, if you look at the fact that the crowd figure will reflect the position and success of a team, coupled with the distance that Sutton supporters had to come to see their team on a Tuesday night and you have a figure that is none to flattering.

The opposite happens when a team is successful. You will get more home support and if playing a team that are as, if not more successful, away support.

Also, as it stands, a major influence is that we don't get many Town Juniors at mid week game as the majority of them are under the age of 10.

As it is also a mid week game there are those that have work commitments and can't make Tuesday night.

So 206 is poor for us but so is the Team's position in the league and therefore the figure reflects our position. What we have left are the die hards (exluding those that have other commitments on the night) and away support (Sutton had their first win in 6 last night, so I am sure this reflected in the amount of supporters they brought down).

One must view this crowd figure with the away support in mind and therefore all this boasting about "we got a certain number of people at our games" with a very large pinch of salt. Canvey Island are not, in my opinion, a well supported team for their position in the league. Why I don't know, as they are, for all purposes, a successful team, if you look at their recent history. But last season, when Aldershot played them, the crowd was large. Not for the home support but for the away support, 'cos Aldershot ARE a well supported team. And so it goes...

Billericay are (were) a well supported team but as this season has worn on, certain supporters have found it difficult to stomach another defeat or poor performance or bad luck. It happens. When our star rises again, which it will, we find ourselves with 500 plus again.

Just a footnote and I hate to mention history, in the 1970's and 1980's our average league crowd was around the 700 to 800 and maybe more for cup games at a level of football that was lower than the Ryman Premier League. Now that is support, boasting about your paltry 500 plus at this level is nothing and whilst I wish we were getting that figure, look at what you were getting when a couple of season ago you were no where. It can go that way again, so enjoy it but keep your "bigging up" on to your forum, not ours. We will remember, if and when it goes tits up for Hornchurch

with reference to urchin man slating our attendences - have u a very short memory or something? it was only at the beginning of september when u got turned over by us at our place when u claimed to have taken "50" fans to the game. it looked more like 20 at best. with that in mind i would be very careful in slating our attendences when you couldnt even muster an away support worthy of the ryman 2nd division in relation to the distance you had to travel and also the "size" of your great club. food for thought perhaps????

p.s i dont want another argument over how many fans u did or didnt take to the game against us - fact is the away support was s**t!

I would agree with Paul S. All this boasting about the Support Hornchurch get and quoting numbers, he seems to forget that some of that are the away support. And on the Saturday we palyed 'em at our gaff, theirs was very "light" considering their "lofy" position.

We have always put the pikey tag on Canvey but at least they bring a decent number of supporters, so perhaps we got that wrong and should start considering our neighbours in Upminster for the Canvey nick name

Dont know why we didnt get something from the game. Really over the 90 minutes did their keeper have to actually make a decent save, their was a few that went just wide and the lob that hit the bar but having said JJ didnt have much to do. Dont why Marlon wasnt played from the start but i am sure their was a good reason like he was carrying a knock therefore it would have been to big a risk to play him from the start. Dont know why Danny was brouhgt off but again i am sure their was a perfectly acceptable reason. I am sure Justin can get it right, I feel we need to be looking higher up the club anyway to gain success on the pitch.
