Guru,you are a great advert for the Guernsey FC followers,especially with your latest post.For your information,Budweiser gave it large on FACEBOOK LAST YEAR about their F.A.Cup coverage,then disappeared after just 1 game,maybe if the old timers,who have not been seen for weeks on end at Wembley FC,progress through this match,they may cover 2 games.

Steady on Guru. Nothing wrong with Smudge having an opinion, not sure why it needed abuse in response.

 

There is nothing wrong with anyone having an opinion but to read his continual money driven personal tirades against anyone who does anything that is not in the Smudge rule book just wears me down until I cant help but react

 

I like to read this forum, to learn about non league football and hear from all of the good people that I have met since following Guernsey around the UK clubs, a range of real good football people. The only fly in the ointment, and I really wish I could just ignore him and not bite or react, is this negative, ever poisoning, opinionated, tunnel visioned idiot.

 

I know the reply once again from his cult of followers will be 'hes a good man' 'he has done a lot for football at this level'............... and on and on, well all I have seen him do in the last 14 months is use this forum as his own pedestal for the rules of life according to Smudge and I am completely sick to death of it

 

And that is my opinion

I am no advert for anyone, I support Guernsey but my opinions are my own. I suggest that you think about the advert that you are, I post now and then and when I do it is mostly because of your continued mission to be involved or stir up issues that are absolutely nothing to do with you. Please just be positive, say 'well done' now and then, find something good in everything that in your eyes is bad and only talk/post about the good bit and therefore keep all of the negative stuff in your head, for the good of the league its teams and the game

According to Budweisers Facebook page,this game will be shown live commencing 12.45pm.Us armchair supporters are getting spoilt for choice.ANOTHER NAIL IN THE COFFIN.

 

Nail in the coffin, coffin of what? Step 5 football? Cos step 5 football is flourishing with bumper crowds week in week out? Are you that sour about people being lucky in general or just football clubs that are feck all to do with you?

Your grandson come to the club and is a decent player would you've Been more enthusiastic if he was playing alongside ray player??

Bollox to all the haters, it's happening its going live and if we're made to look like Kent's tho so be it, but we've enjoyed it!

Smudge has a point. If the FA have given the green light to Guernsey's live 3pm Saturday streaming once the football league season starts, then I cannot see how they can block others. How can they stop a Conference club doing it? If you can watch Woking away at Mansfield on a live stream for £3, then you're not going to wander down to Westfield are you? The ironic thing is the 3pm blackout was brought in to protect lower league/non-league attendances. If those clubs are the ones to break it, then the Premier League will rub their hands knowing it's only a matter of time before they get this blackout removed. Expect Saturday 3pm Premier League KO's on Sky the contract after next. Maybe then Pearcey you might notice that even fewer people turn out, that's of course if there's a club left to watch you at.

 

Sorry if this makes me a hater, negative, tunnel visioned or a follower of the cult of Smudge but it's my opinion.

Sour,its called advertising the game Pearcey,which many posters on here are not aware of,being so insular.Certainly got your attention.Will not comment on Wembley again incase you get upset.Wish you well though.

I think (and hope!) that you'll always have punters going down to clubs in the non-league.

 

Sky gets blamed for a lot, and I'm no fan of the Murdoch's, but you cannot blame Sky for everything wrong in football. You cannot, for example, sue a knife manufacturer because they made a knife which a yob used to stab somebody with. Sometimes, it's the clubs themselves which are to blame for not doing enough to entice fans in.

 

I've ratted on about it on other posts: Clubs need to do more to make themselves attractive. The best run clubs are welcoming, friendly and are keen to listen to the fans input, as well as being keen to market themselves within their community (either in newspaper, television, radio etc.)

 

Last Saturday, I went to a club which was definitely a club on the up. It markets itself very well, has a great team on and off the pitch, does not cost an arm and a leg to get into and is very friendly and family-orientated (hardly any bad language as well). It's doing all the right things and its fan-base is growing all the time - it wasn't always rosy at the club, but new directors and local businessmen have come together and fought for the common goal of making that club a success.

 

Contrast that with one of the other clubs I visited pre-season - it had very few fans, a committee that kept themselves to themselves, a 'dunno don't care' attitude and players who didn't seem interested in being there.

 

If anything, negativity, close-mindedness and a can't be bothered attitude is more deadly to a club than Sky.
