SCORES ON THE DOORS: SAT 4th. AUG:

Recommended Posts

Very good summary inmyday, thought both teams were excellent todau and was a wonderful advert for CCL Div1. Would put a lot of Prem games to shame. Thought E&C just about deserved all 3 pts, they always looked the more dangerous on the attack and the most likely to score despite Knaphill enjoying more possession.

On this showing both teams must surely be looking for a top 3 finish. Really enjoyable game, played in the right spirit (fair but competitive).

Farnham v mole valley very even contested game moles taking lead after a poor back pass then we equalised soon after from good wing play from Craig smith , mole valley plenty of possession but in there own half ht straight from start silly mistake from our centre half puts moles 2-1 up then on even game but with 5 to go don't know what ref was thinking gave a peno for a player not anywhere near the goal trying to get out the way of a very wayward header ref had one and killed the game sent our player of for a wrong decision not one mole player called for the peno ref was bad how he talked to both players through out was all about him molesley think will agree much better from us but need to cut our silly mistakes

Ash 0 v 0 Horley

Truly dreadful game and I am sure the pitch had been cut too short !!!

Anyway I am hoping both sides had players missing otherwise they both could be in for a season of struggle along with my lot !!!

yep not the best of games & horley looked the likely to score but still a point & a cleansheet

new groundsman is crap, just doesnt listen to the people who matter.............needs to get his attitude sorted

Poor referee 8 bookings in a game with very few tackles!!

Along with over 20 poor players. A lot of them too busy shouting instead of trying to play football. It was turgid stuff.

That ref has been woeful in any game I have ever been involved in. Too busy being the star man to get decisions right. I lost count the amount of times he prematurely blew when there was an advantage to be had (for both sides). Anyway, Horley seemed a decent bunch of lads and I am sure both teams will improve

Tend to agree with the blowing up early and did cause himself problems with a couple of bookings meaning he had to then carry that through to be consistent and in my opinion he did. Good save towards the end from you Henry. Are they both still there ;)

Bagshot 3 v 2 bedfont sports

I'm sure Bagshot would like to take the 3 pts, but it was Badshot Lea ;)

Poor first half, spoilt by a blustery wind, saw Baggies go in 1-0 to the good thru Adam Prentice and when he put them 2 up after the break I felt they would coast to the win. But wait a moment, a stirring comeback from the newboys including the equaliser from our own V7 and it looked like there would only be one winner. However, a nice bit of skill from Darren Blake let in Brad Smith who claimed a late winner to give the 3 pts to Badshot Lea.

Thought it took sports 45 mins to get into the game but 2nd half after leas 2nd goal they started getting the ball to the wings and got in behind there back 3 and badshot after playing some nice football in the first half started going long and giving the ball back to sports.

Sports then made it 2 v 2 and like TRS said looked like sports would go on to win the game with badshot at 6s and 7s but a long ball over sports right back was missed controlled and the little winger got in and cut it back for sub to finish this took the wind out of sports sails

I thought badshot would be a lot better

with the 2 young sports centre halfs outstanding all game the 2 x camberley forwards run out of ways to brake them down

strange game at Hartley Witney yesterday between two sides both being put together afresh from last season.

A very poor first half which was at times played at walking pace looked to be ending with a two goal advantage to the chicks was rounded off with a quality strike from HW from an unnecessary corner in the 51st minute.

Some changes at half time to HW and no doubt some encouragement from Mr Tuttle injected some pace and fitness into HW.

They should have scored a few with their dominance but a combination of quality goalkeeping, brave tackles, contentious offside decisons but mainly an inabilty to strike the football cleanly meant DFC looked they were likely to hold on for a much needed win.

Again nearing the end of the game (were the officials on overtime?) HW 1st half goalscorer received the ball on the edge of the box from a quick free kick and lifted the ball into the top corner, two great strikes.

Still enough time though for Chicks to rally and, perhaps with the aid of the slope, upset Hws premier debut with a late late winner.

Talk in the bar after about who might struggle this season and I said "us two on that showing."

Dorking may have the players there to stay out of trouble but will need to gel quickly, and HW will need to find a few more players capable of competing against the better sides in this league.

Good luck to both coching staffs in achieving that.

HW2 DFC3

I saw that Buckers new club containing some ex DFC guys Horsham YMCA had a 6-1 win yesterday, well done Pete and everyone.

Is it better to be inconsistent after making a poor decision or consistently bad?

Let's put it this way, if Team GB women were still in the Olympics I may well qualify for them now!

there lays a problem Henry. If he changed what he was doing he would have been critisicsed for being inconsistent :)

AFC Croydon Athletic 0-2 Westfield

Really didnt know what to expect for this one.I've said along I think our opponents may be up there come the end of the season. Our manager correctly called it and said nows probably the best time to play them.

Early doors the had the better of the play but we gradually settled down. About half an hour in our striker clean through on goal in the box had his shirt virtually ripped from his back. The ref and lino looked at each other.I know it's all about opinions but even the Croydon players were amazed that nothing was given. Would have been a penalty and straight red. Anyway we carried on and managed to miss an open goal just before half time

Second half as expected we took control straight away and scored from the kick off- well in top now and added a second shortly afterwards. Again missed huge chances to get 3 or 4 and last 15 let the hosts back into it and they created a couple of chances.

Decent performance from us - The host's will not be challenging this season unless they recruit a new back 4. We walked through them at times. Good luck to them though in their new journey

Good to see you yesterday Smudge

If his name's Glynn, and if he smokes cigars whilst mowing the pitch, then I may have met him. He used to do the pitches at Bromyard, Malvern, Tewkesbury and Pershore and was 's**t useless.'

He moved to London a few years ago, and I remember him being on 30 tablets a day to live - despite smoking like a chimney....

Nope its not but his name does start with a g tho.

Have heard longer grass so Henry's long kick hold up better. Also Henry, are you speaking as high pitch as Parsons?(

I know 'Buckers' didn't have a full squad out yesterday.

I did get a message from him, and he seemed fairly pleased. Watch this space ?

Dorking Wanderers went down at Pagham on the 1st game after gaining promotion..

From Pagham's web-site !

"04.08.12 DORKING DONE FOR AS LIONS ROAR Pagham's 1st league game of the season sees two goals from Max Thoms (on his debut) and Joe Briggs give the Lions a 3-1 against newly promoted Dorking Wanderers to start 2012/13 in the best possible way."
