Knaphill 2-3 Eversley

This game could of gone either way, great game for the neutral at times as bommie said, on a behalf we gave away 3 poor goals. At times we play some lovely football but lacked that cutting edge!! Both teams agreed it was nice to get this game out of the way first and both agreed both teams should be their at the end. Good luck Eversley for the season hope to see you there at the end!!

Thought it was a decent game. Both sides look much stronger than last season.

Great goal Luke. Poor defending from us,but take nothing away from the finish.

Really pleased with the 3 points. Will be interesting to see where both teams are in the table in a couple of months.

South Park 4-0 Camberley

What a game to kick the season off with. First half hour was quite even to be fair, offside goal for Camberley was offside and with their back line playing so high, we had chances just didn't convert, until a naughty little dink from George Smith. Minute later a through ball to Dave Smith made it 2-0, going in at half time.

Second half again started quite even, restricting Camberley to fairly long range, optimistic shots. George Smith got his second with a close range volley and capped his hat trick with a back post finish with 15 minutes to go.

Really pleased with how everyone played today, we lost a couple of regulars during pre season but the boys who have come in were awesome, including those who came on. Pleased at the clean sheet too considering the stick we've had at the back from the boys during pre season!

Good luck to Camberley for the rest of the season.

Knaphill2-3 Eversley

Yeah, I was surprised at what a tactical battle it was. Two very different sides playing two very different formations meant the game went to and fro. Have to say that I always felt Eversley looked one step ahead - and I don't just mean in the scoreline, I mean that I always felt that they looked more dangerous.

The game had a barn-storming start with two goals in the first eight minutes. The visitors took the lead in the second minute when the strong Jermaine Hamilton poked home following some head tennis on the edge of the box. Knaphill struggled to deal with a long ball high in the air and they were made to pay. However they equalised just six minutes later when a scramble from a corner was turned in by poacher Craig Knowles.

The game then settled into a chess game. Eversley were determined to stop Knaphill playing it out from the back so the impressive front three of Hamilton, Matt Baker and Ricky Hogsden were tasked with springing out and smothering Jamie Redrup and Gavin Brainch. Knaphill certainly try to play a nice passing game but Eversley looked stronger and tougher and launched quick balls into the channels whenever they could.,

Around the 36 minute mark Ricky Hogsden broke the Knaphill offside-trap and calmly slotted home to put the visitors ahead at the break.

Fifteen minutes into the second period and we saw the goal of the game. A good twenty five yards out when he received the ball, Luke Craig looked up and slammed home a beautiful volley past the despairing Nathan Stamp. Game on. Unfortunately for the Knappers, it took just five minutes for the Boars to restore their lead as substitute Chris Fox slammed a good strike home from the edge of the box.

Both sides had chances after this and there were goals disallowed for both sides. Fox had what looked a simple chance to make it 2-4 but he missed from six yards out. The game ended pretty scrappily as a few tempers boiled over but it finished 2-3 and I think it was a fair result.

Saying that, I thought Knaphill looked a decent side and should have a good season. Eversley are looking strong and tough and direct and should be competing for a promotion place.

Officials were good. As usual, partisan support suggested every single decision was wrong, one way or the other but a good 90% of decisions were spot on I thought. Only one bad challenge from Darryl Bloxham which he was rightly booked for but overall I was expecting worse things considering a definite sense of needle between the teams even during the warm-up!

Thought you made some good runs but they were clearly aware of the threat as they were trying to close you down from the first minute. Not sure about the pink boots OR about running out of breath on 75 minutes! ;)

What did youi think of the game bommie, felt we didnt deserve to lose but thats the way it goes!

At least i scored a decent goal with the left peg!

Good to put a name to a face. Superb goal mate!

You will have to introduce yourself Daniel. I always wonder who you are but can never work it out.

AFC Croydon Athletic 0 v 2 Westfield.a well organised Westfield side deserved their victory,in this well contested game.Could of been 3-0,but for a disputed Penalty, that was not given.Low point of the game, some of the LANGUAGE used by Westfield players,to the OFFICIALS,cut this out they could be contenders.Officials were excellent.AFC's problems will only be solved when they find a Player to have a shot at Goal.Pretty,Pretty does not suffice at Div 1 Level.

Ash 0 v 0 Horley

Truly dreadful game and I am sure the pitch had been cut too short !!!

Anyway I am hoping both sides had players missing otherwise they both could be in for a season of struggle along with my lot !!!

yep not the best of games & horley looked the likely to score but still a point & a cleansheet

new groundsman is crap, just doesnt listen to the people who matter.............needs to get his attitude sorted

If his name's Glynn, and if he smokes cigars whilst mowing the pitch, then I may have met him. He used to do the pitches at Bromyard, Malvern, Tewkesbury and Pershore and was 's**t useless.'

He moved to London a few years ago, and I remember him being on 30 tablets a day to live - despite smoking like a chimney....

Along with over 20 poor players. A lot of them too busy shouting instead of trying to play football. It was turgid stuff.

My take....sorry its long!

Knaphill 2 v 3 Eversley and California

First of all...wow! What a fantastic advert for CCL1 this proved today......For those of you that think with Guernsey goes the increased improvement of this division then think again!

As bommie has already stated 2 teams of contrasting styles but I have to add a high standard of football for the purist with both sides boasting players that would grace a higher level than level 5...let alone level 6.

As a Boar (Eversley & California fan) I find it impossible to report on this match without commenting on what a magnificent job Ellers has done in transforming a Knaphill side into what is the best passing side I have seen in this division in the past 4 years of my involvement....(and yes that includes Guernsey). This isn`t arse licking a fellow form poster....I have no doubt everyone will see in the coming weeks and months if he continues to receive the support he has had to date. As I stated a couple of weeks ago this is the best I have ever seen my team as well so I can`t compliment Ellers without mentioning the similar job Sav has also done. Two managers destined for great things for sure.

......Now to the game....

In Boxing speak this was Sugar Ray Leonard v Roberto Duran..... Knaphill were slick, skilled, and technically excellent. Eversley & Cali were tough, tireless, and possessed the killer punch.

From the start (as Bommie has stated) it appeared obvious Eversley & Cali suspected a weakness in the Knaphill defence & started with direct intent. Fruition arrived immediately with the home side turned, a centre back mix up a clearance with Nash in the sticks, gifting Jermaine Hamilton with a tap in from 7 yards.

The Knappers bounced straight back on 10 minutes, with Knaphill's Knowles pouncing on a second ball from a Knaphill corner to level the scores. Luke Craig nearly put the home side ahead 10 minutes later with a curling 25 yarder over the wall that Richard Shelley in the visitor’s goal magnificently tipped over. Wetherall and Flinn showed playmaking skills... when they lost each other.... as both appeared designated to stop the other performing, but it was former Met Police skipper Flinn who set up the Boars 2nd goal on 25 minutes. Neat interplay between Flinn & Nathan Stamp, then Steve Williams & Baker sent through Ricky Hogsden who finished neatly in the corner to make it 2-1. It could have been 3 just before half time had Knaphill keeper Nash not pulled off an outstanding save from Baker from 10 yards.

The second half began with Knaphill enjoying their best period of the game....rewarded with what out doubt the goal of the game. Luke Craig picked the ball out 30 yards out....a shimmy and an unstoppbale shot giving Shelley no chance...2-2....game on!

Knaphill were now baying for blood and piled on the pressure. They kept the ball superbly with the one and only Mr Redrup at right full back a constant overlapping threat. Eversley fought fire with fire & the tackles were flying in with neither side prepared to be shrinking violets.. (have to add that this was a 'man's' game with 'man's' officials who knew what was hard and what was dirty...and was officiated superbly).

Just as it seemed the home side may use their momentum and go on to win the tireless Ricky Hogsden intercepted another structured Knaphill build up & found Eversley substitute Fox who rode 2 challenges and slotted home from 18 yards to make it 2-3.

Knaphill piled forward & Eversley matched with a rear guard action changing their 4-3-3 to a 4-5-1 seeing the game out without possession but with a genuine work ethic that stunted the home side to limited opportunity. A glorious missed header from a corner aside Knaphill failed to create a scoring opportunity to reward their technical excellence in midfield and it was Eversley's superior firepower (despite the always dangerous Baker failing to score), that was the difference between the two sides.

Good to meet Mr Redrup today who had a great game and was a constant threat down the right despite tiring after two thirds of the game and coming off. Also as always with Knaphill, magnificent hosts who have huge respect from all of us Eversley and California.

Took in Farleigh v South Kilburn

Poor game overall, Farleigh started brightly and for 35 minutes looked good, theyd had a couple of chances then Craig Prendergast had a tame penalty saved and that was followed by another effort chalked off for offside.

HT 0-0

Second half never reached the same heights and when Ollie Waiton could only parry a shot out to the penalty spot it was lashed home to put Kilburn 1 up.

Lots of huff and puff after that but very little quality

Referee was shocking but equally for both sides

Looks like a long hard season for both sides....................and the overweight referee !!!!!!!!!
