Ash 0 v 0 Horley

Truly dreadful game and I am sure the pitch had been cut too short !!!

Anyway I am hoping both sides had players missing otherwise they both could be in for a season of struggle along with my lot !!!

FT Guernsey 8 Croydon 0

Firstly, excellent coverage on GFC TV, a couple of glitches with picture and sound just before kick-off, but after that no interruptions at all. Good camera work (will forgive the cameraman for falling asleep on the 8th goal), no commentary, but captured the atmosphere well within the ground. Well worth the £2.99 per game or per month that future games will cost from next Saturday, for those that can't get there. Even better this week as its free.

As for the game itself, the first 35 minutes seemed pretty even. Home side score early on through Rihoy, but that was their only shot in that period. Croydon gradually got more ino the game and created a couple of good chances, especially when our left back Robinson strode forward and hit a scorcher that came back off the underside of the bar. Typically for us, Guernsey went straight down the other end and scored from a corner. We then missed another good chance after a mistake in the home defence, and again Guernsey went down the other ennd and scored from another corner. Half-time 3-0, somewhat harshly

Second half, Guernsey got an early penalty, and after that, it was just a case of how many, as they took complete control of the match. The 6th goal was a cracker - their left back Winch also striding forward and hitting a scorcher which I think went in off the post. We kept on battling to the end, trying to pass the ball around, had a couple of chances, and Francis Ameyaw also made a blinder of a save near the end (not really a match-changer at 7-0 I guess, but a fantastic save nonetheless!)

I thought Guernsey played some good football, and were very incisive in front of goal (Ross Allen scored 4), but their defence made enough mistakes to suggest that sides better than us could take advantage. Guernsey however are on a roll, and will take some stopping this season.

Hope this doesn't knock our confidence too much! We aren't that bad a side!

Bagshot 3 v 2 bedfont sports

I'm sure Bagshot would like to take the 3 pts, but it was Badshot Lea ;)

Poor first half, spoilt by a blustery wind, saw Baggies go in 1-0 to the good thru Adam Prentice and when he put them 2 up after the break I felt they would coast to the win. But wait a moment, a stirring comeback from the newboys including the equaliser from our own V7 and it looked like there would only be one winner. However, a nice bit of skill from Darren Blake let in Brad Smith who claimed a late winner to give the 3 pts to Badshot Lea.
