With regards to murphy, I have not seen anyone that I thought could dislodge until Rhone. I honesty believe he will be key this year.

 

Murphy will still have a role but I do not think it will be as prominent. We definitely have a strong squad though and so we may see a fair bit of rotation especially through the no doubt treacherous winter causing a backlog of fixtures.

I think Danny Murphy is too good to leave out and in a 4-4-2 with Dominic Rhone will make for an excellent left-hand side.I don't believe Steve Bateman will leave Danny Murphy out very often.

 

One thing I'm amazed no one has picked up on, is that our midfield and forward line is getting smaller again.With Burgess,Fraser,Swift,Mason,D.Deeney,

all potential centre midfielders we look lightweight and not very intimidating in the middle of the park.That's why I think we should play,at least,one bigger centre midfielder and why we desperately need a bigger forward for some games.

I'm not saying we shouldn't let our football skills do the talking but size shouldn't be underestimated.Bury Town won this division convincingly,a few seasons back, by having a team made up of big,robust players throughout the positions and talented footballers to boot.

Our defence was notably better with Alex Brown and NBH arrival in it.

 

A team with all small players will not win anything in Non-League football.The higher the division, the physicality side of the game is evident.Of course,in some teams more than others.

They won it on goal diffence from Hitchin, would hardly call that convincing! But they were some twenty points ahead of us in fifth.

Perhaps we are moving towards the way Spain play with all their little 1/2 pint size players ( talking skilled players here not centre backs )

Quite right Sue but TBF I don't think Burger and Chips deserved a reply of 'give it a rest will you' for having an opinion.

 

My opinion is that if someone doesn't like what someone puts on the forum ignore it rather than give a terse un-warrented reply that will more than likely cause friction.

But posters who say that are just expressing their opinion. I'm all for people disagreeing and having a good discussion/argument, but when posters tell someone to give it a rest, then forum mafia is a fair comment. Its been going on for months.
