2012-13 Prediction League + 'NEW' Champions League

Good Day good people, with a touch over a fortnight to the start of the Season I hereby announce the launch of the Fans Forum Prediction League 2012-12 – which this season will incorporate the Champions League Knockout Cup competition.

 

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Competition – here’s how it works: Predict how you feel the Ryman League Premier Division table will look at the end of the season and (this is new for this season) post your prediction on this thread before 3pm Saturday 18^th August.

 

The cagy members of the forum will no doubt leave the posting until the last moment ... no problem with that – but as post on this forum are all timed any posts after 3pm on 18^th August will be invalid.

 

How the Prediction League works: You post your 1-22 of the Ryman League Premier Division. Your 1-22 will be compared to the actual 1-22 of the League, (if you predict say Bognor Regis to finish 10^th & they finish 15^th you will get 5 points for that Prediction, if the finish 10^th you will get 0 points ... now, multiply that by Every Team in the League – add all the points and the Player with the lowest score wins.)

 

New this season will be the Champions League Knockout Cup. The exact format of this Competition will be worked out once I know how many entries there are to the Prediction League, but broadly speaking it will be a similar format to the Champions League (in so much as a lot of rounds will be played before anyone is eliminated). The way results are determined will be by the League Position of Margate opponents on the days of Champions League ‘Matches’ (its more complicated to explain than it is to work out) – but player 1 (say PeterW) predicts Bognor 5^th & player B (say Cookie) predicts Bognor 8^th if Bognor are 7^th the head-to-head result is Cookie 1 PeterW 2 (and Cookie wins).
