Just woken up - looked at the site and seen that Steve Castle has been appointed Manager of City.

Someone who has managed previously at this level, and knows the Ryman inside out. There must be plenty of them about.

 

We are an attractive club who should be doing better than we are. We can surely lure a decent manager away from a stagnant club like we did when Garry Hill came from Heybridge?

I thought Big Ron made some sensible suggestions the other week. Personally, I don't think the club are that bothered about it all. There were none of the board there last night.

The team last night was White in goal, [sent off on 21 minutes and replaced by Hanson who has played a couple of times for the reserves this season], 4 at the back: Gledhill, Seeby, Castle and Murray [the latter arrived at 7.31 due to chaos on the M25, 4 in the middle: Reynolds [subbed on 21 to permit Hanson to come on], Wraight, Deacon, Perfect; and up front: Martin and Tomlinson. On the bench: Attwood, Parsons, Cross and De Souza [who arrived at 7.32 due to chaos etc.]

 

McDonnell wasn't in the ground. Nor was Williams. Nor Brown - away on business I heard. Smith, Naylor, Oakes and Campbell are injured.

 

Grays are a quality side, going forward, without qestion.

 

There is no point in calling for Castle's head. It won't happen.

 

The lunatics who were calling for the entire Reserves team to play in the Ryman League Premier Division should, perhaps, think again.

 

Last night should be erased from the memory. It will be easier for those who weren't there. The fans have to get behind the Manager and the team on Saturday.

Unfortunately the result cannot be erased from our history.

 

The club has been struggling along with Barry in goal for some time now. It is clear he isn't up to it. What have they done about bringing in a permanent replacement: nothing!

 

Where were Williams and McDonnell?

 

If Brown can't commit to playing reguarly then shouldn't he clear off?
