obis
Always nice to but probably lowest priority behind Conf Sth, FA Cup and Trophy. Chance for squad runout though.
cup of tea
Agree with the above. It all depends on how the big teams(the Colchester and Southend's of this world) take the competition.
The Great Eckscape
I assume you include us within the category of "big teams" considering that we are the cup holders and therefore undisputed champions of Essex?

Baron of Black Fen
Agree with the above. It all depends on how the big teams(the Colchester and Southend's of this world) take the competition. If my memory serves me well, back in 1976 there was a cup formed called "The Essex Professional Cup" . It was formed so that Professional clubs like Colchester/ Southend & Dagenham now could play. Tilbury won it beating a full strength Southend 3-0 at a packed Tilbury. The smaller clubs, like Romford, played in Essex Senior Cup. The next season it went back to the Essex Senior Cup and the league sides seem to have stayed in it since. They dont take it seriously and only play their reservs. I feel that to get the competition back to how it was, and give us lowly non league sides a chance of winning a cup, league sides should not be allowed to compete again.
