I was just getting sick of coming on here, and only seeing the same old arguing stuff over and over again, and it's usually the same four or five people that do it.

HR,

in defence of the 'four or five' people, IMO from what I've read they have not been arguing but discussing/debating issues about Slough Town players, management etc. which, as far as I'm aware, is what football forums in the main are all about.

Yes, I agree some of it is regurgitated stuff from previous posts which to some can become tedious but as long as it does not cross that line where it becomes defamatory, derogatory, personally vindictive etc. I don't have a problem with it.

Why dont you just admit it you don't like SB you slate him off in nearly all your posts, then at the end you say he's ok.

STEVE BATEMAN has beaten the best teams in our league and the Champions by scoring 3 and conceding 0, We were going no where before SB took over.

If we win the league this year by P 42 D 0 L 0 you'd still find something to blame SB for.

Yes he did beat the best teams in this league, but he lost to some of the weakest and which teams went up and which team is still in this league after 3 goes at promotion?

He is a good manager to get into a play off position 3 years on the bounce - that is agreed, but does he have the golden touch to get promotion?

Well,Horsham Rebel,if you're sick of it,don't bother reading the thread that offends you.Read something else.

If forum partakers only agreed with each other, it wouldn't be a discussion or a debate and it would be pointless having a forum.Sometimes unpopular view points make for the more interesting forum threads, hence why we've had three pages under the Thame Admission Prices banner.

I respect most of the viewpoints on here whether I agree with them or not, including yourself- Horsham Rebel, and even, Epic Rebel, who doesn't like what I'm saying about Steve Bateman's flaws of management [my personal opinion].That's what living in a democracy is about. It is also because I'm open-minded and that I believe everyone is entitled to an opinion, regardless of whether it's popular or not.

I'm on here to talk about all things Slough Town and any non-league football subjects.I'm not on here to carry favour, make friends or agree with things I don't agree with.

It's hard to be tactful in written form on a forum,so occasionally subjects can be misconstrued or not totally representative of the whole angle that the writer is trying to relay.

yes I have read your posts and what I'm reading is:-

SB is not a good manager, he's crap, he is blar, blar, blar. but I like him. as I said in my post

not any manager gets it right all the time even the ones you've said ( you left one manager off your list Terry Readon )

What about Howard Kennedy and Alan Davies. Davies won promotion to the conference premier

Howard Kennedy was a bit before my time but I liked Alan Davies.Thought his teams tried to play attacking football and he had some very good players under his reign like Steve Thompson,Alan Pluckrose,Trevor Howe,Trevor Bunting,Jeff Bateman,Paul McKinnon and Neal Stanley to name a few.He like all managers had his faults, like why he continually wanted to drop Trevor Bunting! and why he picked Bobby Dell consistently in his midfield, when the player was clearly out of his depth.

He also paid over the top for Colin Fielder and sold our 'Thommo' too early and cheaply.

Have you ever thought of going into management yourself 3 spirit?

Have you ever thought of going into politics,Windsor Rebel?

Politics is not for me 3spirit, however I think you would make a good manager as you seem to know more than any current/previous

Slough manager regarding tactics.

Well thank you,WR,I think I'd make a good non-league football manager,too.

I don't profess to know anything/everything but like most fans I observe games and draw my own conclusions.Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing ie Fielder/Thommo instance but HP9 asked about H.Kennedy and A.Davies and so I offered a honest opinion. Is that so terrible?

The difference between me and you is I offer a truthful opinion, whether it's right to you or wrong to you is your choosing. It's no different to offering an opinion in the pub with your mates.

Whereas you don't offer your opinion, you just snipe at people who do and usually choose to be sarcastic.

Like you say 3 spirit, everyone is entitled to their opinions. Fortunately, your opinions have no bearing whatsoever

on manager selection or team tactics. My general opinion is that we should all get behind the team and Steve Bateman this season and

stop picking holes when things do not go our way.

Not much of a discussion forum then though. I'm all for getting behind the team but at the same time, we should not be beyond constructive criticism. I don't think any of the people who have taken the time to register on here want the club to fail, so we are all after the same thing, success, and we will all have different views on how to achieve that and more importantly what we define "success" as.

We must stop attacking anyone who comes on here with an opinion which isnt a glowing reference of the tenor a performance and try to encourage differing opinions and points of view. It's a discussion forum after all.
