Windsor_Sec
Watching the GB vs NZ women's football and the NZ manager Tony Readings was mentioned as having been captain for AFC Wimbledon in their very first competitive match in the CCL ! Got to say after 15 minutes I was bored to tears though, no disrespect to the womens' game but these are the top players and the skill factor and all round game isn't even up to CCL level in my opinion. TRS
Can remember it as though it was yesterday. 2,500 packed into Bottom Meadow on a day much like today, will be ten years on 17th August. Got a bit emotional when that first goal went in too!

Krooner
AFC Wimbledon. Boring. Bought their way into the football league on the back of a bunch of thugs. Bet Kingstonian still sing their praises
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Are AFC Wimbledon still moving to a new ground in the near future?
TRS
Think you're mixing us up with Crawl£y, Kroons! AK, a new ground is on the agenda with the council on board and I believe a site may have been identified. However, as Kroons would tell you, it's not as simple as just finding a site and submitting plans sadly. Even if everything went to plan, think you'd be looking at 10 years. Meantime, to stay in the league we have to put money into Kingsmeadow. New seated stand nearly up behind the goal and the side terrace needs to be sorted next year to comply with regulations. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on us still being at Kingsmeadow 15 years from now.

Big J R
Totally agree Sec,the commentators are no better, what a great way to start the Olympics. Two more off my Christmas card list ! I wondered just how long it would be before the Ladies Football misogonysts got going. At least the GB Ladies team play with a lot more spirit than the mens ! The mens opening game was a total disgrace, especially from the two foreigners who wouldn't sing our National Anthem. Hope they lose big-time. Big J R
......... and just to some rub some badly needed salt into peoples already open wounds ! Mens cycle road race yesterday - BRITS - NOWHERE !! Womens cycle road race today - BRITS - SILVER !! As my wife says, British women want it more than men, and I ain't going to disagree.

And if opening your legs is ever an Olympic sport we'll fill the podium All joking aside though John I did actually say no disrespect to them but my own personal opinion is that the skill levels just aren't there and I certainly didn't denegrate womens' sport in general as I actually believe they'll win more medals than our men do. Still can't get my head around womens' Boxing though !
