First time I have had the chance to look at who's who & to get a feeling of what's to come.

First half we went close on a few occasions but lacked the killer punch though their keeper kept us from scoring on a couple of occasions. He was even better than that in the second half as he pulled off some miraculous saves to defy us.

Second half we were completely on top.

Players I liked were the black guy at centre half.Tall and good in the air and decent on the ground too. Someone will have to help me with his name. Murphy did good first half and looks a real threat as does Rhodes.Starkey impressed me too at full back

My Margate M.O.T.M. though was Young Dolby. Great feet, great trickery and plays the simple ball when needed. Great cross in for the goal. Looks very young but has a wealth of talent as was plain to see.

Their M.O.T.M for me was their keeper.Made some superb saves during that second half.

There were a few more there that impressed me though somewhat less than Dolby but altogether two sets of players(each playing a half each) did very well indeed. CK has a problem in that he is spoilt for choice with this bunch and what a good bunch they are. Sadly some won't be with us during the season but overall the play was much superior to last seasons after a not so good a first half.

Still very very early days but things are looking up ON the pitch so far. RYAN DOLBY! remember that name!

Is Ck's key role to build a promotion winning team-or find players and bring transfer income into the club ?

Not mutually exclusive ;but some may suggest that it is more important to bring unbudgeted income into the club.

Did that superbly last season with Appiah.

Could this Dolby be the next Kwesi.

Got to have him signed first-but is there just a slim chance he could' cut the mustard';CK 'nurtures' him;and the club manage to get a fee for him in January;even at one fifth of what they achieved for Kwesi

wishful thinking-but never say never !!

If CK coud generate one income generating transfer per seasonto keep topping up the clubs finances-is that a better result than achieving promotion ?

In my opinion yes-at least for a couple more seasons.

That given-Mr Dolby could already be 'attached' to another club and just being allowed to trial with MFC'and do we see it every season-these young flying wingers look great pre-season with the sun on their backs-but once it gets serious and you are playing on a mudbath in the pouring rain in essex on a tuesday night;being booted into touch by a seasoned semi -pro-they don't look anything like as impressive

Does he still do a breakfast in that cafe in cliftonville?

Thought Tommy Murphy had a good half, always busy, and very very greedy when it comes to shooting at goal, which I think is a good thing to have one player like that..

The tall black centre half was FEMI Tony.

I believe Dolby ghas played for Welling and Bromley, is 22 so has a good pedigree, agree he looked great last night. We looked better 2nd half because Tyler Christian Law, not Moore, Dan Stubbs and Matt Bodkin played in a central role which gave us more of the ball. First half I wasnt really sure, apart from Avery who was in centre mid.

Must say their keeper certainly saved them from a sound beating and Im looking forward to Friday to see how they all cope with a professional outfit.

Steady on there BGA-you'll be agreeing with me next ,that if you control central midfield (by at least 3 in central positions )you keep more possession, make more chances and relieve pressure on the defence.

Even if you have not got the greatest quality in the world, a 'pack of three'working together will generally do a pretty good job for you

I believe i may have casually mentioned that just the once or twice !

Oh yea Michael, cant be having that can we!! ;)

I only made the point because, IMO, in the first half especially, we missed out on a lot of possession due to only Avery being central.

Saying that I did like the fact that Murphy and Rhodes kept swapping wings with Murphy having one of his best games for us I thought.
