Sexist. I'd like to bet KB has a much better knowledge than you

Winslow Boy - I'd bet that HTFCew is far more knowledgable about the beautiful game than Karen is, I believe HTFCew was going to Bloomfield Road in the late sixties and watched the great Jimmy Armfield play whereas Karen seems more of an administrator than a real football enthusiast

So you don't deny that KB's knowledge and experience is far superior to yours. Nice to see you holding your hands up.

That is not a nice thought if you stood next to him with his hands up wood the smell be very bad

So as you say you wouldn't know. Still didn't stop you passing judgement on her knowledge. Are you actually stupid? Or a hypocrite by accident?

If only you knew my footballing background Rhodes, I also was attending matches back in the 1960's and was lucky enough to have an uncle who took me to witness England's greatest day back in 1966.

Karen - I didn’t think you were as old as that so apologies. The 60’s and 70’s was when it was real football wasn’t it with real players who would play for nothing such as Jimmy Armfield, Bobby and Jack Charlton, Bobby Moore, George Best, Dennis Law, Colin Bell, Jimmy Greaves, Charlie George, Martin Peters, Frank McLintock and Francis Lee for example, unlike now

They all played for nothing? Wow! How did they afford to live?

You're not wrong there WB, they weren't paupers, but while players like George Best were on circa £1000 per week by 1970 (approx £30,000 todays money) whilst the common man's average weekly pay packet was around £15 per week there are stories of managers like Bill Shankly building a team on less then £700 per week.

We only have ourselves to blame for these spoilt young men at the end of the day, we pay their wages by and large.

Agree and I agree with the basic sentiment of Rhodes' post but he just seems incapable of making a straight, intelligent post. Also late 60's saw the emergence of the advertising deal, players advertising all sorts of products for hefty pay cheques not to mention a tax free testimonial something the common working man didn't get

Premier Division

Dunstable Town or Aylesbury United.....think DTFC will just edge it as if they are succesful can see their crowds being quite good at Creasey Park which will spur them on??

Division One

Like most people I can't see past Hoddesdon Town. Scored 122 goals in 42 games last season and have improved their squad. If a team does finish above them they will have done incredibely well

Division Two

Risborough Rangers
