Obviously not Rhodesy's own work but conveniently lifted straight from Biggleswade Today. http://www.biggleswadetoday.co.uk/sport/bedfordshire-county-league-round-up-1-4343670 Rhodesy, do you think you could quote your source and add links in future? It's just polite although not worth stringing you up for or even worth another round of "TW@Ts". Edit. sp.

Rhodes
Loosely - Like I said you must miss those times particularly in August and September at leafy away venues where you can sit, sorry, pose peacefully on the sidelines in a sun lounger wearing trendy shades sunning yourself and sipping pimm's and lemonade. Loose
Yes Rhodesy but can you stop copying other peoples work and claiming it as your own?
Rhodes
Loosely - That's interesting, so you readily admit that you miss those times at leafy away venues where you used to sit, sorry, pose peacefully on the sidelines in a sun lounger wearing trendy shades sunning yourself and sipping pimm's and lemonade. Rhodes
A report on this one from Saturday from another Forum which was apparently part of a so called hop: Bedfordshire Senior Trophy Round 1 3.00pm Potton United 1 Crawley Green 1 A.E.T. Potton won 3-0 on penalties. Attendance: 30 This was a revisit for James but a long awaited new tick for me. The plan was to zoom straight back to Sandy afterwards for the 4.45 kick off which would have been another revisit bearing in mind we knew we would miss the first ten minutes or so, but this being a trophy game, and our knack of finding cup games which always go to extra time, we were resigned to the inevitable. Did it go to extra time? Course it bloody did, but it was a very good game in what turned out to be glorious sunshine in which the comfortable “Derek Inskip Stand” seemed to transform itself into an oven for the first half. The game itself as already stated went all the way to penalties and I witnessed something quite incredible in the penalty shoot out. The Potton keeper saved all four penalties from Crawley Green. They were good shots on target but I’ve never seen this happen before. Really spectacular saves too. I had been told of the excellent food van here but alas, not to be found anymore. In fact no tea bar at all, although the club kindly put out some tea and coffee on a table in the entrance to the clubhouse and asked for donations. Nice touch. The ground is rather quaint but not overly picturesque especially when the sewage treatment tanks behind it start wafting their contents around. But I found it a very friendly place all round. The town itself has a very small square with the usual shops and a good fried chicken take away. Several pubs should please partakers of the real ale. There is a second team, Potton Town from the Beds league, who play at a rec to the west of the town.

Rhodes
Well it’s all there in black and white on another Forum from last Saturday, a three game so called ‘hop’ which sounded like a good day out: Bedfordshire County League Division 1 11.00am Elstow Abbey 0 Pavenham 3 Attendance: 103 This was a revisit for both Jimmyjazz and myself. On our previous visit, the hosts beat Harpur 12-1 in what can only be described as a post hangover drubbing for the opposition. This was a very different affair with excellent football being played all round. Well done to Craig and the league for organising this hop, it was amusing to see the people I usually see in far flung reaches on my home turf. Elstow is a picturesque village a few miles to the south of Bedford and was the birthplace of John Bunyan. The main attractions here being Elstow Abbey est. c1075 and the 15th century Moot Hall which was originally a market place and is now a museum of 17th century English life. Also (and most importantly), there are two pubs and a post office/stores. Well done to the club for the substantial programme and bacon rolls. Also the excellent playing surface and well kept playing field in general. We had already visited Caldecote, the second hop game, so it was off to: Bedfordshire Senior Trophy Round 1 3.00pm Potton United 1 Crawley Green 1 A.E.T. There is a second team, Potton Town from the Beds league, who play at a rec to the west of the town. All in all a welcome tick. It was now 5.45 so off on the ten minute drive for the last remaining minutes of: Bedfordshire County League Division 1 4.45pm (arrived at 6.10pm) Sandy 2 Brickhill Tigers 2 Attendance: 101 So we missed it all, but just in time to get some hot dogs (half the price, double the sausages, it was late). Many of the seasoned ones amongst the hopping fraternity will have already ticked Sandy or Sandy Albion as they were, in their South Mids days, but it’s still a charming venue in a town park, well worth a visit. Sandy itself is a small town similar in size to Potton but stand out for me was the Golden Chef Chinese take-away to the north of the centre. Outstanding Singapore Vermicelli, my best yet and those that know me will agree that is a bold statement.
