It has been confirmed today that ‘Boro will travel to Manager Spencer Day’s former club Chertsey Town on Saturday 4th August, kick off 3pm.

 

Chertsey play in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central, where the finished last season in 17th spot.

Commenting ahead of a return to his former charges, ‘Boro boss Day said “We will be taking the full first team to Chertsey on Aug 4^th.

As many of you know I left Chertsey for Farnborough in November and brought, Dan Bennett, Phil Page, Oli Treacher and Miles Smith as well as my coaching team with me.

Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Dunstable Town are looking for away opponents on the 21st July.

Too much dosh to travel out there I suspect,Guernsey learn lessons fast,still with a bit of luck,Farnham may be going twice.

A right shame for Guernsey, and no doubt a headache for the club's secretary.

 

See if Mark Le Tissier can ask brother Matt to see if Southampton can send a side over - even a reserve/youth scratch team would draw a decent crowd.

 

If it helps, Havant & Waterlooville have no games between the 21st and 27th of July, and Bognor Regis Town have no games between the 16th and 21st and 21st and 27th July. Might be an idea for the secretary to put in a few calls?

Just announced by Guernsey

 

"Guernsey FC are delighted to announce that Blue Square Bet Premier side Nuneaton Town will play The Green Lions on Saturday 21st July.

 

Last season Nuneaton beat Gainsborough 1-0 in the Blue Square Bet North play-off to reach the Conference National.

 

'Boro' will be another tough opponent for Guernsey FC in their pre-season preparations. Kick off will be at 19:45 and a large crowd is expected for the match. Tickets are available for purchase online. Season ticket holders who booked their tickets for the original fixture against Leatherhead FC have automatically had their seats reserved for the match."

 

That's a pretty impressive list of friendlies lined up by the Green Lions. Exeter City, Poole Town and now Nuneaton Town.
