Fixtures are Out!!!

Recommended Posts

Thank you Bomaya.

Guernsey have a number of home fixtures all at once over the Christmas period, simply because their ground is available on the dates in question. By using those dates it helps to avoid the possibility of mainland clubs having to travel to Guernsey in midweek later in the season, which I am sure every club will wish to avoid. Guernsey are playing away twice in three days over the August Bank Holiday which balances things up a little for anyone who is concerned about it.

Interesting to see both fixtures involving Sandhurst Town & Cove are scheduled for Friday night, following on from the success of last season.

I think more clubs should be looking at Friday nights. It's a great way to get both hoppers and supporters of local bigger clubs to your ground.

We'll be moving a few about (inc Friday's) no doubt including the Boxing Day derby at The Vale if they agree to it.

Westfield away v AFC Croydon Athletic

At least you get that hideous trek out the way first ;)

Hideous trek? Preparation beforehand Wattsy helps.Woking to Croydon is no further than Croydon to Woking, cannot see a problem.

Just my opinion Smudge. Every time I've played there it's taken around 2.5 hours getting there through the traffic, how do you prepare for that, not really that possible is it!?

I'm sure Croydon do think the same, but like I said it's just my opinion and I hate playing there

It all depends which way you travel smudge, traveling away from Croydon to Hartley Wintney say, is alot different to travelling into Croydon from Hartley Whitney.

Yeah Croydon Clubs take 2 different routes,1 for going,1 for returning, its called preparation Any Football. Of course you cannot factor in Motorway delays, well you can, leave a bit earlier. No one ever moans about going to Farleigh,Whyteleafe, which are 15mins maximum from Croydon Arena by car.A couple of posters on here have asked for directions from me,and found the journey traffic free.

This is something that Merthyr Town are considering doing for this season.

That fixture can be re-arranged around the Christmas period with the agreement of both clubs. I think that is highly likely!

No One takes any notice of me at all,at the CCL.So the blame cannot be put at my Door.Still it will take less time for Horley to get to Guernsey, than it would to get to Croydon. So a good shout by the CCL Fixture Secretary.

HKP, I wouldn't bank on it being re-arranged to a different date. Currently there are no free dates. I'm in dialogue with your Chairman and the League. We hope to confirm a date and time following your visit to Horley on 27th August. At the moment it looks like it will be played on Boxing Day with a slightly later kick off time. The problem is that 27th December is not a holiday so some of our players would need to be back home on the same day.
