Steve Cook publicly thanked the fans for their support after he was sacked yet the chairman came up with the following; 'I read in the Observer about Steve's tribute to the supporters and most of that was from the heart and well meant but I do know that in reality, he felt let down by a few, who had the knives out from an early stage.'
