J.T. ON TRIAL !!

Recommended Posts

Loosely - Lets face it, John Terry was always going to be let off

Well the verdict seems to have revolved around whether JT made a racist remark or merely repeated it. I'm curious whether anyone thinks that a jury of 12 sensible people might have believed it was the former rather than a single person who instructed by matters of law believed the latter.

Where is Spencer Tracey when you need him?

So John Terry is home free then, there's no way the FA can possibly lay a finger on him now he has been found non guilty by the Court as there would be an outcry

Maybe, Missunderstood, but I was having a dig towards the new race row emerging in Twitterland.

Rio Ferdinand called Ashley Cole a 'Choc Ice' and now cries of 'racist, racist!' have come out of every corner.

Rio has said that the phrase 'Choc Ice' is not at all racist, indicating it means somebody who is black on the outside but white on the inside (i.e. a 'westernised' black person whose values are more in keeping with great Britain's than with the countries from which black families have emigrated from.)

Now, I have heard black people call other black people 'n*gger' and nothing is done about it. Yet if a white man dares call a black person that, they're a racist. I've been called a 'honky' and 'casper', in jest, by a black friend and according to my solicitor it's not racist at all.

I do hope it's not going to be one rule for one person and another rule for another.

TBH I'm not sure what is racist language anymore. Many years ago a mate of mine adopted what he described as a half caste baby, (who I believe played for Hornchurch for a while), before long that terminology was wrong and he had to be called coloured, that soon become wrong and he become black. Today I read in a newspaper that we are no longer supposed to call a black man a black man. Its all very confusing.
