Olympic Torch

I saw the torch yesterday at Clissold Park near Stoke Newington and to be honest I was rather under-whelmed, it really wasn't anything to write home about.

Yet you wrote about it on here. Lol ;-)

What is the point exactly of the so called Torch relay, is there a point to it, I thought someone just lit the flame at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games

I can just imagine the Rhodes Olympics trying to find a cheap plastic disposable lighter at the last minute

And. Load of amateur athletes who in his mind he compares to world greats.

Would Rhodesy's relay runners have to wear his dirty old raincoat or would they have to supply their own?

When I watched the so called Torch Relay on Saturday it was organised chaos to put it mildly, there was a huge Coach following the torch-bearer, a number of other vehicles, 'Official runners' and security runners, it all seemed a bit surreal and totally over the top as well as dangerous for the crowds watching.
