Olympic Torch

Recommended Posts

Passing through Winslow, cannot believe as Winslows most famous and beloved son I was not asked to carry it through. Its all politics i guess, i left for London and the towns prople were so heartbroken although they have supported and followed my achievements from a far i can only think there must be some resentment for me for flying the nest. Hahahahahahahahaha apparenty it also will be passing through Buckingham (boooooooo) and Bicester (who cares) on the same day. It will pass spitting distance from tw ground has it been past or is going to be going past any other SSML teams/towns and who is carrying the torch.

I know who's not being allowed to carry it past Kentish Town.

Who do we think will light the Olympic flame in the stadium, is it just a toss up between Steve Redgrave and David Beckham or is anyone else in the frame

Becks has already said an Olympian should do it.

I'm with E.T.I.D with Sir Steve or Daley Thompson. Thompson gets my vote as I spent many an hour and broke many a joystick playing "Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge" on the Spectrum 48k when I was a boy... classic game!

Another name to throw in the mix is Dame Kelly Holmes who was fantastic in 2004.

Or Sally Gunnell who was born in Chigwell.

Best would be a combination of the above people

Winslow Boy - I'm surprised our paths have never crossed, I live near Finsbury Park and regularly get the W3 or W7 buses to and through Crouch End, how near the Clock Tower are you

Sir Roger Bannister would get my vote.

Seb Coe wants to do it, so I'd shove him in the flame pit.

Jumped up midget dictator.

I'm taking part in the torch relay on the Thames on Friday 27th, We escort the Gloriana down from Chelsea harbour to Tower Bridge. Its rumoured that messers Pincent & Redgrave will carry the torch in that section but apparently it's a lady that will travel the short distance from Tower Bridge to the Olympic rings on the bridge.

Keep an eye out for our boat "Trinity Tide" (White boat)

I agree that Sir Roger Bannister should get the final honour.

I saw the torch yesterday at Clissold Park near Stoke Newington and to be honest I was rather under-whelmed, it really wasn't anything to write home about.
