The Mayor Of Simpleton
One question, why are Beckenham Town in the competition? Surely Beckenham is in Kent? Or is it like the Staffordshire Cup where sides like Shifnal, Bilston, Bromyard etc. can enter despite not being in the geographical area?
Jurg78
One question, why are Beckenham Town in the competition? Surely Beckenham is in Kent? Or is it like the Staffordshire Cup where sides like Shifnal, Bilston, Bromyard etc. can enter despite not being in the geographical area? I think that's exactly it. Last season Staines Lammas won both the Surrey and Middlesex County Cups they entered (they are a Middlesex based club).
bomaya
County Cups are based on the FA you are affiliated with and yes that can mean more than one. Reasons for this are historical. I don't think you could decide to change county FA now.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
I recall once seeing a programme of a Malvern Town v Macclesfield Town Staffordshire County Cup match for sale - Malvern's never been in Staffordshire, nor affiliated with their FA (they belong to the Worcestershire FA), so no idea why a club nowhere near Staffordshire (they are closer to Herefordshire!) would have been involved in that competition unless they were desperate for teams to play in it that season (1988/89). E&E Rich
We've been knocked out of the Surrey Cup by both Beckenham and Ashford Town (Middx) in recent years. Doesn't seem right though
Big J R
Interesting that both Dorking F.C. and Dorking Wanderers have both got 'byes' !
jertzee
AFC Wimbledon are in both London and Surrey Senior Cups, being affiliated to both. Although many dislike the Surrey FA seeing as they made us play a game knowing they were going to kick us out of the tournament having fielded an ineligible player previously.
