In my experience on here Bicknell and the other supporters on here have always been upfront with what they believed to be the case, they can be a bit forthright and it's been a bit more refreshing then some of the anonymous cn uts that feel free to hide the club they are associated with - yes that would be you wouldn't it? And then insult them, obviously some sour grapes there.

 

So Bicknell believed something he'd been told and said how he felt and he hasn't come on here whinging following the fallout - just been factual - and by the looks of it you believed it because as you said you passed it on to your club who you seem shy to name. Good for you, you've been anonymous which is the best suggestion most people can come up with for getting away with speaking your mind or insulting officials from a club.

 

There's been the odd occasion when the Ampthill Mob have been incorrect about something and there's no one faster to hold their hands up.

 

 

The mistake in coming on here and speaking your mind is that you can easily believe that it's for likeminded people, a bit like down the pub, what's said isn't expected to be for maiden aunts who can't hold their own or who go running to teacher but it is an easy mistake to think like that isn't it?

 

I hope Bicknell takes some advice from here and contests this, it's open to interpretation since it didn't say that Hoddesdon actually had written to the SSML and let's face it, Hoddesdon's regular contributor could have contested the statement and the opportunity could have been given to retract the statement or request it's removal. Instead the Maiden Aunt's have gone running with their knickers in a twist.

 

This place will be the poorer for losing Bicknell's and possibly others presence on here, personally I think that's the shame. Good to get your input though, welcome to a footy forum.

Well ok for a kick off to be a liar you must absolutely know the truth and then willingly declare the opposite, so in this case thats null and void, at worst it's a mistake and over reaction, also an understandable one given not only the circumstances of a hard fought season earning promotion and being told that it may be taken away secondly probably a hangover from the situation with Padbury and having a promotion taken away. I take Jonnos word for it that there was nothing in it, probably a vicious rumour (one that incidentally had reached many clubs at committe level) started by a sad individual aimed at causing trouble but since it had nothing to do with Jonno can he 100% say that nobody wrote a letter? Are we not just accepting what someone says over what someone else says? Who decides who's word is stronger? We all know things like this have happened and who can say they wouldn't have reacted by lashing out in the same way? With hindsight yes poor judgement, however we are all entitled to our say and if we start punishing individuals for expressing their feelings/opinions when it is their own and not on behalf of an organisation/club/company I think we are walking in dangerous territory. What stops someow reporting a manager in a pub slagging another club off to a player etc? I also didn't realise one individual had all the answers that's pretty incredible, thank you for descending from your high horse to grace us with your views. Lastly attacking someone for their dyslexia is pretty low and kind of negates your pretty poor moral high ground argument? Do you also make fun of other Disabilities and conditions that the individual has no control over? That dear chap is the definition of no class in my humble opinion. I can't condone people using this as an excuse to just have a go at Hoddy for their own personal vendettas, they in my experience have always been a first class club that have always been good on and off the pitch, I don't know about all this stuff about them schmoozing the league as I haven't seen it. A quality club winners of the first vase great history. I feel this thing could have been handled much better without any fines etc being issued. In the end what has happened will only serve to further any bad blood. No doubt there will be a blah blah blah Bicknell lover brigade response to this but judging by the standard of that last post I expect nothing less nothing more, sad really.

I choose not to openly associate myself with a club because these are MY views and not those of a club. After all the BASHING of Rhodes on here about him posting things he was told and believed. Why won't you come to his rescue when someone slams his views...? Why? If its only a 'mistake' as you put it...

Secondly when Bicknell was asked to prove these allegations that Hoddesdon wrote to the league to get them to re-assess the facilities at Ampthill, I didn't see him on here "holding his hands up"... Nor did the other Ampthill 'mob' as you put it. Therefore by not having any proof, we can safely say its not just hearsay between Bicknell and Jonno but actually fictional information on behalf of the Manager of a Senior Football Club.. Yes... The fine is very extreme and it's not my concern but I will say it has surprised me. My gripe is that someone can come on here and just blurt out an accusation that can damage a fellow Clubs reputation. BECAUSE HE IS A MANAGER OF A CLUB, and therefore should be communicating regularly with his committee members. Especially on a subject that could possibly have caused Ampthill's promotion prospects serious harm. HE SHOULD HAVE FOUND OUT BEFORE SAYING ANYTHING! Especially telling big fat lies. Surely the committee there should reconsider such a foolish man (because he obviously thought nobody on here would mind that it would leave a dent in a fellow Club then run off like a giggling little girl) to be I charge of a good club.

 

Your foul language doesn't offend me. It just highlights your lack of class and low level intelligence of someone who likes to talk utter rubbish in pubs. Bit like how you treat this forum, or you would like to.... You can call me what you like. However the 'c' word is a bit harsh in light of the fact you are jumping to the defence of someone else. Is that because you have feelings for him? Are you lovers or something...? Is there a mass orgy in the Ampthill area that takes part in committe rooms of football clubs with the blinds closed?

Why not comment on the fact that a Manager of Ampthill Town or any other club for that matter, on a forum or anywhere else, should not accuse another club of something that is quite serious unless its true. I think most people would agree that it was a serious allegation and like me thought badly of Hoddesdon Town of doing that. Felt sorry for Ampthill. Alas Mr Bicknell had a chance to back his claim after a member of the accused committee says a letter wasn't sent. He didn't take it. this speaks volumes.

And I so carefully didn't address your drivel because you only threatened to come back if I did. So what does that make you now Mr Nobody? Also it must be pointed out as I said earlier someone is only a liar if they knew the truth for certain and then said the opposite, and that clearly isn't the case here, yes it could absolutely be construed as slander but there was no previous between the clubs so why just pull that out of the air and make it up? So rather i suggest its someone who felt that someone was stabbing them in the back and lashed out when it would have been better to have gone trough proper channels. At this point if there is a hearing and the Ampthil chairman has something to say on the matter then in some respects the jury is out. Devils advocate here what if at the hearing Mr Bicknells accusations are found to have substance, what then? My feeling is that someone with a vendetta spread a vicious rumour throughout the league Andr Bicknell responded I'm sure he would agree with hindsight incorrectly. He has given his number for you to discuss with him perhaps you ought to get both sides of the story. Hopefully this will all be resolved amicably. Do you not feel that someone as you appear/profess to be who thinks things should be handled with honour and decorum that you owe an apology for the offensive jibe at Mr Bicknells dyslexia, or do you go around dancing in front of crippled people too? (that's a joke borrowed from Bill Hicks) as for people defending one side or the other you are vehemently defending one side based on the sole reason that you were told it wasn't true, my mate tells his girlfriend and everyone he isn't playing away but I know he is. There is a lot of name calling going on which seems rather un called for and is partly what you are hammering CB for and also undermines some well constructed points. I don't personally agree with you but that's life we all see things differently and are entitled too surely? I don't wish to beat you down and insult you in a bid to "win" an argument by changing your mind because you are entitled to feel/believe what you want to.
