As a Club Official you represent your team when making comments on this or any other forum.

 

Obviously you did not learn your lesson from your previous fine.

Craig, I'm guessing somebody at my club took offense to being called a sad p***k and also the false accusation that we contacted the league and asked them to reassess your facilities. I did point out at the time that I wasn't aware that we had sent any such communication to the league but would hold up my hands should it be proved otherwise.

WB, the name calling doesn't bother me at all but at the time I was concerned by the accusation of Hoddesdon Town entering into a dirty tricks campaign. This was entirely inaccurate and a smear on Hoddesdon. And whilst the complaint did not come from me personally, I support the complaint that it appears my club have made to the SSMFL.

 

If that makes me a sad p***k, then so be it.

I just love these Leagues that fine individual Clubs/Players,on what is said on a Forum.How can you post an honest opinion on any matter,if you are connected with a Club in anyway.Unless you are a supporter of cause,the only way is to use an alias.

Not having a pop at you but but I've got to say I think it's a poor show. I had heard the same thing from several sources maybe it wasn't true. Did anyone from Hodd contact Amothill to assure them this wasn't the case and ask for a retraction? And if not say that you will have to take it further rather than run off and tell teacher

You see the trouble is you just can't state what you've been told or suspect openly on here. Many people could easily suspect it of certain clubs but the SSML can't hold with that, they prefer it all done whispered into their ears, quite underhand as an organisation and dishonest enough in their own way if the truth be told.

Sorry WB, but in my opinion, the complaint is justified. I might feel the rough end of Craig's tongue over it (kinky) but that's my opinion.

 

What I will say however, is that I have seen FAR worse on here by other people which consistently goes unpunished, so I am surprised to see Craig and Ampthill having the book thrown at them!

Well no one is going to admit in and in all likely hood there was nothing in it. However as you said they made no effort to contact you but is that what it boils down to? Literally school ground behaviour not sorting it out man to man?

I know for a fact that a number of League Officials and referees (not just PTG) read this forum so it may not even have been Hoddy complaining that lead to it. Suppose it is no different to a Premiership manager's making comments to the TV / media, just a lot less people get to see / read them. A lot worse is said on here but anyone with links to a club as a player, manager, committee member etc runs the risk of being hauled up for their comments. A complete neutral could probably say what they like within the forum rules but the rest of us need to be a bit more careful. In the past clubs have been fined for quotes given to the local press or match reports on their website & you also hear of players at a higher level being fined or sacked for comments made on Facebook & Twitter. It would be a shame to see Bicknell disappear from the forum (although I bet you're back before the start of the season!)

Before we judge, let's remember that SSML officials do read this forum and therefore it could be possible that Hoddesdon Town did not complain but the complaint was picked up directly by a member of the SSML committee.

 

As rule 8.21 clearly states:

 

"All Clubs will be responsible for their official website or similar computer related information system, which is within the public domain. Nothing shall be included on the website which in the opinion of the Board brings the Competition or the Company into disrepute"

Kb Tringarmy all good points. Shouldn't be witch hunt cb in hindsight I'm sure would agree that he prob shouldn't have said what he said and whoever "reported" it should get a life.

I also feel the league should focus more on clamping down on clubs who fly in the face of the rules, clubs who are constantly in trouble for discipline and violent conduct rather than policing peoples opinions and wading in on name calling matters
