2-5 London Lions v Aveley

http://www.pitchero....ture_id=1191290

A brief report on this one from another Forum:

PSF

London Lions 2-5 Aveley

Att h/c 17 Adm/Prog £5

This game played on the 3G pitch about 20 yds beyond the main pitch (I understand this would have been the case even without the recent heavy rain). Aveley 4-1 up with 4 close range headers and got a soft penalty right at the end. Entertaining game, could have been 4-7 or more.

The main pitch (which Lions are playing 1st team games on this season - FAC/FAV / midweek games will be at Hemel Hempstead) looks fairly basic, railed off with a small covered area open at the sides (no floodlights). Car parking could be a problem if they ever get a big (100+) crowd - there aren't really any sidestreets to park. Large bar/clubhouse some way from the pitch.

Will re-visit at some stage to see a game on the main pitch, although probably only awarding myself one 'tick' for the two.

Savagebee - Did you go, what's the British Airways ground like

Very similar set up to Met Police Bushey if it's the same place where British Airways Women's team use to play.

Winslow Boy - I'm with you on that one, the Virgin Atlantic ad is one of the best on tv, I'm surprised Richard Branson hasn't got a Football Club off the ground to compete with his bitter rivals British Airways as money would be no object

Hoddesdon Town 2 Royston Town 2

Holmer Green 2 Flackwell Heath 7

Report on latter from another Forum

Holmer Green 2 Flackwell Heath 7 Played at Hayes and Yeading 3G Beaconsfield Road

Admission Free

Programme No

Tea £1

Mars Bar 60p

Attendance 15

A decent game with Heath scoring 4 goals in 11 minutes midway through the first half

Second half saw more of the same as they went 6-0 up but credit to Holmer who stuck to their task and pulled a couple back though the ironic 'we can win this' by one of the Holmer Green staff with 5 minutes to go was soon extinguished as Flackwell added a 7th !

Flackwell looked sharp though they eased off for 15 minutes after getting the 4th while Holmer were constantly caught out by the defence sitting too deep and not moving up together. When the centre half or keeper shouts 'up' you all have to go lads

Not much sign of buildings going up at the Hayes ground though there was a big digger on the far side of the clubhouse

Baldock 3 Broxbourne Boro 2. A narrow defeat for a Broxbourne team that contained a few first team squad players from last season.

I'm surprised with all your contacts you have not fill in the missing results from Tuesday's game.
