YellowBoar
Eversley and California FC Improve Facilities at Fox Lane Eversley & California Football Club is carrying out improvements and upgrading to bring its ground at Fox Lane, Eversley originally opened in 2008 up to the FA National Ground Grading Category G. E&CFC currently play in the Combined Counties League Division One at Step 6 and the improvements will enable the first team to apply for the Premier Division at Step 5 if promoted, and also allow the Allied Counties Youth team to move from its temporary home in Farnborough back to its permanent home at Eversley. Summary of The Works to Achieve Category G The pitch barrier is being repositioned along one side to accommodate the floodlights and the improvements. The concrete hard standing, currently on one side only is being extended to all four sides of the pitch. The current 50 seat stand is being relocated to the adjacent side away from the dug outs to provide better viewing, and an additional 50 seat stand is being added to provide seating for 100 people. Terracing for approximately 100 people will be added between the two stands. Six Foldscan hydraulic raise and lower masts each 13 metres high on concrete bases are being installed to accommodate 14 nr low glare luminaires achieving an average maintained horizontal illuminance of 193 lux, well within FA requirements. Cabling will link the 6 nr masts to the three phase power supply in the existing Changing Block including a 100 amp three phase multi service board with associated MCBs and a switch key operation. The Club has invested in solar panels on two of the buildings on the site and this will contribute towards the running of the floodlights in use. Safety lighting will be installed in the existing car park; and improved safety lighting and signage will be added to direct visitors from the car park and the Changing Block; along the separate approaches to the pitch for both players/officials and spectators, to the entry to the pitch at the half way line for players/officials; to the pitch surrounds and stands for spectators; and to the existing Clubhouse. Additional fencing will direct spectators to the pitch surrounds via a newly installed turnstile point 15 metres from the pitch barrier. Funding and Timescales It is hoped that the majority of the £100,000 funding will be provided by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund administered by the Football Foundation, who also supported the initial project at Eversley. The balance will come from commercial sponsorship, donations, club fund raising, and club reserves. Planning permission has recently been received from Hart District Council and it is hoped that work will start in late summer and be completed by the end of December 2012. bomaya
Not a grading requirement I know but I hope they can get better signage to the ground of the main road as well. Do they know when the first game under lights will be as that sort of things tends to attract hoppers?
danielpjn
There is a brown tourist information sign on the main raod to the ground. The council will not allow any further signage. We'll update as soon as we have an idea of when the first game under lights will be.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Sadly, signage problems aren't that uncommon. In Gloucester, Tuffley Rovers have only recently been allowed to put in a signpost on Tuffley Lane directing fans to the ground - previously visiting fans would end up either doubling back on themselves or ending up in the docks (not literally in the basin, I hasten to add!) It's surely common sense to allow signage - let me guess NIMBY's stopping it from happening?
Trentender
Will you be providing a free bus or taxi service from the clubhouse/dressing rooms to the pitch?!.... ;-)

Trentender
Not knocking Smudge only joking, decent set up over Eversley, good to see a club similar to ours being ambitious and improving their facilties. As for our bar, being given the green light but waiting on a load of legal waffle from the council to clear, we've waited over five years a bit longer won't hurt! Smudge
Fair do's Trenty, the nice thing is that Clubs like Knaphill,Eversley,South Park,Bedfont Sports,Westfield, are clued up to all the available F.A.Grant money, that is out there.Whereas Premier sides do not seem to tap into this revenue.Any reason for this? Non League Nigel
I wish we did have some FA Grant Money - we could get a proper groundman rather than the current contractors who have still not touched our pitch despite having handed it to them 6 weeks ago

I know it's a pain. it took Merstham a few years to get some signs up and when they finally did, they were so small I never even noticed them! But with your ground being a bit in the sticks, who on earth can complain? They can't cost that much.
newby marvel
cant you do what the old do as ya likeys do an put up signs yourself??
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Newby, I think you need to have prior permission from the council to do that. With regards Tuffley, the council eventually said they could have three signs put up (one by McDonalds, since been nicked..., and two either side of the road into their ground) but they would have to buy the signs if they wanted them. In the end, they forked out nearly £200 on three signs.
