With training re-commencing last night- i trust JL put them through their paces accordingly.

For those of us who can't contain their excitement for two weeks until the Corinthian game-maybe few photos of the next traing session could be posted -then we can play the game of 'who's he 'and recommence the traditional summer sport of idle and ill informed speculation, conjecture and gossip about new players

Funnily enough, one of the things I have been planning is a feature on training although I need to talk in detail to CK, but it will be a little later in the pre-season.

This is the problem with the Internet, people expect to know everything immediately.

In the old days supporters would turn up for the first friendly pretty much unaware of who had signed or left. Maybe there would be the odd snippet in the Gazette but that would be it. Supporters would go to friendlies unable to recognise half of the team and rely on chatting to some 'ITK' character behind the goal to find out who was who. It would often take several weeks before you could get a handle on the identity of the entire squad. Today, people with nothing better to do want photographs of training sessions. How the world has changed.

I remember during the, ultimately futile, title chasing 84/85(ish) season, we had a Tuesday night game at eventual champions Basingstoke.

I didn't find out until the Friday that we drew 1-1. Nowadays we know as soon as each goal goes in!

And why not? We have it so, use it.

Thanet's home game against Salisbury at Hartsdown Park on 24th April 1986 takes some beating if we're talking about lack of info / how technology has made info easier to come by. That was a home game moved forward from Saturday 26th April to the Thursday night before at extremely short notice. Only 29 people saw the match - I was one of the people who missed it due to not being aware it was on.

Often used to ring up clubs to find out the result of away games at full time. If it was somewhere 'foreign', where they spoke with a different accent, I would often be told the wrong score.
