Rhodes those times and competitors were great but there are rivalries now - Bolt/Gay/Blake- FarahvRuppvLagat v Bekele- Felix and the Jamacians , Kenyans v Ethiopia loads of others . The 400m with James and Santos will be awesome over the next few years and tomorrow I have a ticket and will see the 200m and the 800. In the 800 I believe we are witnessing the greatest track athlete ever - David Rudisha. Decker v Budd was a great race ; but the issue was Zola Budd. She was fast tracked into GB citizenship and the do gooders made sure her stay was uncomfortable - politics 'killed' an athlete..nowadays potential threats to the state are fast tracked citizenship!.

Loose - I agree the system needs to be fairer but as the Tories try and fix the economy it is not on their agenda. I know in Sth Africa it is done outside of the government led by Francois Pineaar (ex Rugby) . Perhaps its something Beckham/Hoy could champion and have big businesses build on the success of the olympics . We need to do something as a lot of kids fall by the wayside before their life has started.

Stop Whinging - Out of interest where do you get your tickets from for the stadium as I haven't been able to get a sniff of one which has been really disappointing, were you there for the already legendary last Saturday night where we won three golds in less than an hour. Also do you have to pay a tenner if you just want to get into the Olympic Park without a ticket for any event, I wouldn't begrudge that as it's a good way of recouping some of the outlay for the Games which, as discussed previously, has been considerable but worth every penny piece. Lastly I guess once you're inside the Park there's a good chance of picking up a ticket at face value from someone who has a spare or if any returns happen to be on sale from a booth.

I've been to 16 sessions all told, well 14 so far with 2 to come, and it was a combination of tickets allocated in the original ballot, tickets bought prior to the start when they released a load to the market and picking up some tickets as they've been released each evening - I bought one ticket whilst on the tube home from another session.

You have to have a park ticket to enter the park, and they all sold out before the games started.

I haven't seen anybody selling tickets, lots of people offering to buy, but none for sale - besides which onward selling of tickets is illegal.

No tickets have been available at the venues, all tickets have had to be bought online in advance and then picked up from one of the booths at the venues.

Presumably you catch the tube each time from Heathrow Airport to Green Park and then take the Jubilee Line to Stratford. Is it quite common that someone might have a spare ticket, either inside or outside the Olympic Park, and if you're in the right place at the right time you can get hold of it for face value or even for free.

Rhodes_ I was not there on the saturday but could have got tickets but was already committed. I apllied thru' the original ballot for all athletic finals and received two - first friday and first monday. I then went onto Co-Sport and obtained an Australian address and got three nights thru' the site. I picked up tonights on the London 2012 site yesterday morning. I have seen people offering tickets and asking for tickets in the park. It is illegal but people do it. I was also offered a couple by the French group staying at the Grange Hotel as they had a couple who did not want to go and they were free for the swimming heats. It is a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Our 1500 girls are either recovering from injury or a bit young so not a lot is expected, Weightman will be good thou. As i said before there is a lot of talent coming through and athletics is in good hands but we need to continue the investment in all of the sports not stop just because we have been successful at these olympics. I think that this whole event has shown our footballers in their true light ..when any of the olympians have been interviewed they have been eloquent , humble and polite with no arrogance (exception-Idowu) how the footballers could learn from that!.

Nope. Never done it that way.

Really, surely that's the quickest route to the Olympic Park by tube from where you live

Another excellent gold medal won by Charlotte Dujardin, as well as a bronze, in the dressage, it makes up for the huge disappointment of Nick Skelton, Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Peter Charles yesterday in the Men’s Equestrian where medals were fully expected

Yes.....but there were also about another 10 or so athletes including Rudisha himself at least twice who had run faster in the meantime. Close rhodsey like about 20 years out of date!

Well done to nineteen year old Jade Jones for winning our third gold of the day in Taekwondo, only the third Welsh woman ever to win an Olympic gold medal

Shouldn't today's Marathon, and the Women's for that matter, have finished in the Olympic Stadium like it always used to, there was nothing quite like seeing the exhausted runners entering the Stadium to rapturous applause for a couple of laps of the track before crossing the finishing line.

The biggest disappointment of the Games for me was the Team GB 100m relay team who would have got a bronze medal, disgusting!

Just to be chosen for the Olympics team is an achievement, surely?

Anyway, it's over now.

Yes but what an opportunity for those four guys and they just threw it all away

All hypothetical ! They lost the relay because a young lad suffered with nerves. There is nothing disgusting about that but just part of his development. In front of 80 000 he got eager but he will remember that and will be one of our stars over the next five years. Football's loss Athletics gain!. Have to say the reaction from his team mates was first class very humble. Yesterday was a sad day the end of the greatest sporting fortnight ever now its back to poor trains, roadworks etc etc and of course the over hyped Premier League and the overpaid ar$eholes who go with it! My personal moment - being there on saturday and watching Mo win and the 4 x 100 relay WR get beat. Ben Shepherds interview with Mo and Bolt afterwards was awesome - Shepherd is as classy as those two.

Threw it away? Come on, I doubt they threw it away - you just try running in an event like that!

The poor sods were knackered, and deserve praise for taking part NOT criticism for not winning a medal.
