suppose that as a footballer he is a pretty good role model for young professionals to look up to

Missunderstood – What has Pearce actually achieved though as a player other that costing us the 1990 World Cup, if he had scored his penalty against Germany then I think Chris Waddle would have converted and it would have gone to sudden death

He's talking about Giggs!

Nottingham Forest fans still hold 'Psycho' in high regard, so he must have done something right whilst at The City Ground all them years.

Five trophies during his tenure with Nottingham Forest, on top of other major honours, is an achievement not to be sniffed at.

How do we think Team GB will do this evening against Senegal at Old Trafford, the Women's Team did well yesterday although you would expect them to beat New Zealand

They'd probably do better if those two Welsh gits were told that it's 'polite' to sing the National Anthem !

(I'll get me coat !!)

Exactly.

Due to the small-minded nature of the 'gobby mob' of certain Welsh fans, they're too scared to. Never mind chips on a plate, most of them have theirs on their shoulders.

I'm half Welsh and don't find God Save The Queen insulting at all (although I did prefer Anarchy In The UK....)

Stuart Pearce is quoted as saying that he 'is not bothered if his Welsh players refuse to sing the National Anthem as long as they get a result against the UAE at Wembley today'. He went on to say that 'the issue has not caused a stir in the camp and does not concern him or his squad, I had no idea there was a backlash to be fair. I would not force any players to sing the anthem, some enjoy singing it, some don't, we have no policy on it'. That says it all really, what an attitude!

How many of the ENGLAND squad actually sing the National anthem before games? Less than half. Does anyone make a fuss about that?

I went to the GB v UAE game yesterday (and the Senegal v Uruguay game before it). The Welsh boys in the team gave it their all in the game - very impressed by their effort, as with all of the squad. A sell out crowd of a very different composition to the usual footy crowd showed great enthusiasm, although the repeated Mexican waves were a bit naff! Giggs and Bellamy in particular were hugely popular with the crowd.

The only element of footy moronism was in the first game, with the constant booing of Luis Suarez every time he touched the ball. There was no such booing for the first 20 minutes - not sure whether this was because he hadn't been recognised til then, or because he didn't touch the ball til then!

A moment which amused me was when someone important was ushered into the Royal Box. Could it be Wills (and, dare we dream, Kate)?

Then the word spread round that it was someone more impressive than that - David Beckham!

He surely is now the ultimate world icon - people of all nations spent the rest of the game rubbernecking Becks and his kids - far more interesting for many than the footy!

All of a sudden these nationalists are happy to wear the GB badge. So they won't sing the National Anthem, maybe they are educationally sub-normal, obviously they don't understand what hypocrite means. Andy Murray springs to mind too.

It’s obvious that Charlie Adams robust tackle on Gareth Bale in Baltimore during a friendly between Liverpool and Tottenham was made purposely to teach the un-patriotic traitor Bale a lesson for pulling out of the Team GB squad only to turn up as fit as a fiddle for Tottenham’s pre-season US tour.
