DERBY2
Hopefully Chenns will read this I would like to wish him all the best in the next step of his footballing career, can't say it came as a surprise,it's a shame he couldn't have stayed but he must do what is best for him It has been a pleasure having him around the club & I am sure he will be made very welcome if ever he graces Stag Meadow again whether as a player or just socially. Good luck & I hope the goals keep coming along for you
Geggy
Here here. One of the finest strikers in all my years watching Windsor & Eton / Windsor FC. Showed huge loyalty over a number of years and coming back last year was a measure of how much he was emotionally attached to the club. But we all know he shouldn't be at this level. Good luck Chenns. I'm just pleased he didn't sign for Slough!

Good luck Chenns. I'm just pleased he didn't sign for Slough! Very difficult to compare him with other good strikers that have played for Windsor & Eton FC as Chennels has been very good at the lower end of non league football, but has not proved anything at a decent level, YET ! You must have had some better strikers when you were in the equivalent of conference south for many years and also when you reached FA Cup 1st and 2nd rounds and the Vase semi final. Playing combined counties and Southern south west divsion are unfair comparisons in my opinion Geggy. Next season he will hopefully do well at Chesham and climb up the divisions as it is clear potentially he could become good at a higher level, but he is still unproven at a higher level than Windsor & Eton. Fuzzy Royal
Chenns was a quality player, always gave 100% and his goalscoring record spoke for itself. Speaking to him at the ground he always came across as a nice guy as well and never seemed arrogant or up himself. So would very much like to wish him well. As for comparison, I would put him in the same category as Gilman, Landsley, McCulloch, Regis and others of this ilk but it is all down to personal choice. He may not have played at Conf Sth level but he performed against everything that was put up against him and ultimately scored. I am sure he will perform at a higher level and his movement and finishing always looked a class above. Always have a warm welcome at Stag meadow from everyone I know down there. Geggy
Not difficult at all in my eyes to have that opinion and only my opinion. People regard Chris Yates as the best striker to have ever played for Windsor only two of his seasons were in the then premier division does that mean his goals and potential he showed in the Athenian League (equivalent of combined counties now) counted for nothing? I don't think so and I think he is quite rightly regarded as Windsors best ever striker. Chenns was the second highest scorer in Windsor & Etons entire history and one of the few to be sought after by league scouts (Brentford and Crawley). My words were 'one of' and not 'the finest'. Windsor & Eton also only played 10 years of its history in the Premier Division so the vast majority of the clubs history was at the same level Chenns played for us. Anyways all about opinions it's what makes football a great sport!
Fuzzy Royal
Lets just say we won a cup and a league with Chenns which we hadn't done for a while, for me Yates was the best and I regard myself lucky to have watched him. I also feel lucky to have seen Chenns play, some of his goals were awesome and the team he played in had some quality players playing at a level they were better than. Good luck tohim and its great to have different opinions, if only we could see players from different eras playing together, why do we have to get old...... HP9
Some good points Geggy and Fuzzy, but I'm sure lots of those forwards who played for Windsor during their 10 years in the Conference South would also have scored plenty more goals at this level and also looked better players. Only time will tell on Chennels and I for one hope he does very well and backs up all your support. All I am saying is that it is obvious that he is a very good striker but you must admit he is still untried at a higher level regardless of who's taken an interest in him
Mrs_Cat
I think it’s a bit unfair to say Chenns in unproven at a higher level, the 1/2 season WEFC was in the Southern Prem Chenns continued scoring in the same fashion as he had done in the the league below. You always thought you had a chance whilst Chenns was on the pitch, even in the Southern prem we would be getting battered but you always knew we would create one chance Chenns would stick it away and we would snatch a point or 3 when in reality we should have got nothing (Leamington at home & Tiverton away spring instantly to mind). Our loss is definitely Chesham's gain and like Geggy said I'm pleased he didn't waste his time going to Slough, no disrepect to them but he's got nothing to prove at that level.
