St newts surprise news

Recommended Posts

The tweet directly from Dennis Greene says "It is with deep regret that I have resigned from St. Neots town Fc. Statement to follow shortly."

Mike Kearns will no doubt be on the phone to Harry Redknapp as we speak!

The official St Newts statement.....

"After several weeks of discussions we can confirm that Dennis Greene’s position as football club manager of St Neots Town FC has become untenable, it is with great sadness that the club can confirm the resignation of our first team manager Dennis Greene late on Friday evening. The club have accepted this.

With the up most respect in mind for all that Dennis has achieved over the last two seasons the club will not comment any further and wish Dennis every success in the future."

What a twat you are. Still big chips on sholders. These things happen in football, no one knows what happened and proberbly never will but I bet the club will still be as strong and united, at least we were not calling for the manager to go.

Our club will have a 100 managers wanting this job. Still never mind step 3 for us next season

Saints Alive, do you not think you could have worded that response a little better? Yeah ok, we probably shouldn't be talking about it formally because it's not our club but was there really a need to be abusive and sarcastic?

If I was still a manager I wouldn't put up with Mr Kearns video interviews for very long and I doubt many would. Ok this may not be the reason Dennis has left but until the exact reasons come out there will be rumours and looking at Dennis's face in a lot of those interviews, if you think he wasn't embarrassed then you are kidding yourself!

Anyway, good luck next season and in the search for your new manager!

Watch this space Ive just listened to a recording from BBC Cambridgeshire from earlier this evening and Dennis Greene said "In hindsight I should never have resigned" and went on to say he would return if asked

Blimey he must of upset them big time, seems a bit harsh to say that about someone who managed the team when they got promotion, think the chairman could of said something a bit more dignified and polite.

No the chairman has always stated to everyone players and all.

If your not happy with your lot at the club then goodbye, and we move on.

Everyone in our club is treated very well indeed.

One thing our chairman is not and that's power struck.

Been there seen it done it.

Has a plan set out for the club and has not done too bad to date.

As for the interviews your the only people you have a go about them, believe it or not they get many views and many other clubs supporters think they are great.

Must be a slough town thing, like many other slough moans.

So basically, he's had a disagreement with a power hungry chairman who thinks he knows best because he's bankrolling everything. Think Dennis deserves better.

Well, not necessarily. There's always two sides to every argument.

At least,at Slough Town FC we have a chairman and manager who are dignified in their behaviour and so one hopes that when they disagree with each other, they will be man enough to compromise and when the inevitable parting of the waves happens, both will show a sight more tact than the St Neots two.

From the radio interview, Dennis said he have in a letter of resignation to try to get a positive reaction from the chairman but instead the chairman accepted the resignation almost immediately. Which to me suggests that there may be a problem between them otherwise the chairman would have tried to talk to Dennis and convince him to take back the resignation.

Mike "i'm the man with the money and I know best" Kearns states "With the utmost respect in mind for all that Dennis has achieved over the last two seasons the club will not comment any further and wish Dennis every success in the future." on the 30th June 2012

Then on the 3rd of July he then comes out with "Firstly I would just like to confirm that our former football manager Dennis Greene will not be returning to the club. These things happen in football no matter how unpopular they may be."

Make your mind up Mike, will you make any further comments or not?!?!

Saints alive - it is good to see your chairman is clear on what he is up to.

Better get a trust together as I bet he will be gone within 2 years from now - too big an ego even for a chairman!

Cant be more wrong.

This bloke has galvanised our club together, maybe says it how he sees it which in some cases could be wrong.

Direct and to the point and has a passion for the club.

At least our supporters would never call for the managers head after only finishing second in the league.

How did Mr Bateman feel about that.

he should have said up yours im off.

But you lot will always have a chip on your shoulder.

Apologises to all slough fans what has been wrote above is not the view of all Saints fans, we have built up a great relationship with you and welcome you at ours anytime. The last meeting was a great opportunity for both sets of fans to interact and i know all fans enjoyed the football and support you brought with you.

I would like to take this opportunity to share my true thoughts and opinions on the club i loved and the recent departure of Dennis Greene. I am writing on this forum as all my posts and others on the St. Neots forum have been deleted or edited since we do not share the same opinions. All the fans agree with the above regarding the interviews and general attitude of the chairman. Unfortunatly we are unable to express this on our own site. The news of Dennis Greene has left a hole in many supporters hearts and as a result i see many supporters that I have spoken to boycotting games, not only this but i feel the players will feel a huge sense of loss. I have witnessed over the last couple of days the inexcuasable comments made by Saints alive. It seems strange to me that he uses very similar language and terminology to the chairman " If your not happy with your lot at the club then goodbye, and we move on".

We all feel let down by the lack of communication and input we have received. ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL - JOKE

If we don't keep our quality players then i can see us tumbling out step 3 football. After all the success Dennis and Mike have achieved it seems a little pathetic that differences cannot be resolved. I feel sorry for the under eighteen players if used next season as it will be lamb to the slaughter against some of these teams. I am trying to remain positive but at this present time it is very hard, when Dennis gets us promoted 2 seasons in a row and thats the gratitude he is shown. The comments on BBC Cambridgeshire have been heard by all fans since it was posted on our forum and we have all heard how upset Dennis feels it would be nice if him and Mike could resolve this and move the club forward.

Good luck next season Slough great team and great fans.
