A few weeks ago Cliff stated in an interview that with the postponement of the new build that , "Some things happen for a reason". This got me thinking and so I went onto the Planning applications today for Hartsdown Rd. At the top of the list is a recent application by the club to build the 80 room hotel (Which has already been approved) but also a fitness centre, more 5 a sides, Hospitality suites, Childrens play area, Theme bar, Banqueting Suites and Admin offices. The application was submitted on 28/5/12 and accepted on 15/6/2012. Apparently it involves the old nursery area in some of the plans. (Five a sides). I know this was part of the long term plans anyway but maybe we are looking at a complete build in one go now.

Exciting-just one thing-who's gonna pay for it ?

It always comes down to the money.

Agree a substantial contribution to TDC via a section 106 agreement and any planning variation won't be the issue.

Its always about the money !!

Who pays ?

It has already been discussed, or at least mentioned, on here:

Reading the literature I think it is something that the council planners have recommended. Use the following link and see if you agree.

Mr Lever is funding it. Re-Negotiations with Travel Lodge on-going which is the main catalyst for the development. Thats how I understand it! I am happy to be corrected though...

Really.

That aside-should i be embarrassed to admit that i am sufficiently anal to note that the development companies agent is no longer depicted as the architects-but a central london based individual

Having a look at the plan, I see the full-sized pitch and extra five-a-sides are back. I thought it had been agreed to omit them at a previous meeting?

I thought that too, I also didn't realise a theme bar (formerly described as a 'fun pub' I think) was part of the plans. Are we still turning the pitch round and will there be a motorcycle testing centre and doctors surgery ? Bingo hall ? Salmon hatching centre ?

So says 'the good doctor' on his blog.

Finally, I spotted Margate football club's Keith Piper, shopping in Westgate this morning. The last I heard of the club's development plans, is that the Travelodge hotel development has been replaced by a proposal for an ice rink. Perhaps we'll have another 'decisive decision' from Clive Hart on this idea as well?

I read this today... Unbelievable comment... Am really jealous of Maidstone fc (cos I work there and get ribbed by my work colleagues as the support Maidstone), they have a new ground couple of prize friendlies, the town is buoyed and looking at their squad (which the ground and auroa around the town/club has set) believe they will be up top half of table at least.

I am a fair weather, if honest mfc fan, but just can't understand all the road blocks that have been placed in front of the mfc train. Am I winging.. Probably ... But this backwards attitude we have in thanet is wrong, am looking forward to what will happen with pleasureama but as the council stand to make about £3m bet that is pushed through like my wife in the queue at the next sale at Xmas. Up the gate or perhaps we could have a word with newcoglasgowrangers for a club share?
