Rhodes
Winslow Boy - Can you direct me to the thread as I couldn't find one, do you think James Cain will do a good job at Ostlers Lane or is he likely to be out of his depth
Winslow Boy
Winslow Boy - Can you direct me to the thread as I couldn't find one, do you think James Cain will do a good job at Ostlers Lane or is he likely to be out of his depth Think it's on management rumours. Depends if he is able to add much to his squad from Bletchley they like us were very much mid table more combatative than us. The big unit Lee Johnson defo good enough for that level as are one or two others. Think they will have enough to stay out of bottom 3/4 but beyond that who knows. However I really don't know he could get a quality squad they will have a budget and might pick up some of Ampthills players who don't make step up to prem. long winded answer to basically say I don't know no way of telling at this stage. Could be interesting on discipline side. I wish him a good season.
bicknell
He is a very good young manager , he hasn't got loads of experience but he is very hard working and committed , and from what I'm hearing he has a very good squad next season , he also has my old coach ken speed so they will be fine , I hope he does well . Rhodes
To be honest I thought that Craig Connell might have made a return to Ostlers Lane rather than Stony Stratford taking a gamble on an untried Manager at this level
ref off ref
Craig Bicknell was an untried manager at this level last season Rhodes, and he didnt do too bad did he?
Winslow Boy
To be honest I thought that Craig Connell might have made a return to Ostlers Lane rather than Stony Stratford taking a gamble on an untried Manager at this level They've done the right thing I think. Rather than go down the same old route they are going with a fresh and enthusiastic approach. Connell is good no doubt but without (and with a budget at Cranfield) he struggled. Brendan Rodgers and Paul Lambert did ok having not been tried and tested at the top level.

Ref Off Ref - I don't deny that and he has done a good job at Ampthill Town however I'm all for a tried and tested Manager who has already proved that he can do the job such as Craig Connell for example, haven't you heard the saying 'better the devil you know'.
