I'm sorry but tonight was embarrassing turnout from our supporters! There was no point even opening tonight as only 5 of our regular supporters turned up..and Hx O bringing some other players (btw thanks O). As previously stated there is no wonder why the club don't open on a regular basis!

BTW We lost (can't remember the score)

It is dissapointing to see a lack of people at the darts night.I couldnt make it either because i was stuck at Newmarket working all day,but as i picked up half a grand for it,i make no excuses.

Some people were away, some forgot about it,a couple were ill, another few who used to play have stopped, will come to that in a minute.Maybe its a lesson learnt not to hold such an event unless its when we have easy contact with the majority of the players, which would mean May-early July possibly harder to arrange.

I got in contact with the majority of the team past and present today by text and asked them how we could change things and to those who don't play anymore,if it was because of 1 specific reason.

By far the most common reason given was that we play with stands not fixed boards on the wall,if we had fixed boards and a fixed mark to throw from, this would enable us to throw consistantly as the mats we currently use, move all the time and you are never throwing from the same spot. Its no coincidence that when i play in a pub i constantly hit 100s-140s with some regularity, when i play at the club i really struggle to the extent that i havent played for about 3 months now!!!

The lighting is poor

We play the same team all the time,we need more games but teams don't like coming to us because of the stands

Yesterdays game being re-arranged 4 times annoyed a few people, once we get a date we should stick to it.

We don't play enough,we should be practicing weekly, but this could only happen if the club was open,a dilemma as its not worth opening for 10-15 people, perhaps if the club trusted a couple of fans to open up and serve when needed for nothing???

So they seem to be the most common complaints

By the looks of it,we really could do with either A) 2 boards up in the club with markers on the floor, nothing jotting out from the floor but a permanent marker the correct distance away and decent lighting or

b)Our own clubhouse to hold such events.

If we carry on with these stands i and others believe that we are never going to progress as a team and certainly won't be taken seriously by others.

Plus i believe Jordan was nearly injured when a board fell on his head last night.

One other suggestion is to find another venue like the LT club, but this kind of defeats the object of being called the AFC Hornchurch Darts team.

I like the opposition.

They are a friendly bunch.

They spend loads of money.

And like us don't take it too serious.

A big fanx for the daggers for supporting this event

After last week I bet Daggers would play us every week.

As for other opposition, we've played away to Canvey on a Mid-week night and Brentwood on a Sunday.

Neither have shown an interest in giving us a return.

We only have to click out fingers (Not Steve) and they turn up en masse.
