Brache Sparta FC

Recommended Posts

In the past had some quality sides. Luton based. Always very physical and aggressive but in last ten years or so been in sharp decline. Tried to re start as a Brache Sparta community but it didn't really happen

As someone who was central to BSFC I have to admit we got involved with totally the wrong people whichn resulted in the Club folding at the end of season 2010/11.Since then it has become impossible to get any sense from any of the many people involved. The central problem was that the pitch was Council owned and the building owned by the Club Members and it became impossible to obtain a lease and get the necessary grants to push the Club on. Several players are still involved with other local Clubs and ex Manager Mark Smith of whom I can t speak too highly is currently with Crawley Green.

Interestingly I see that 'Mr Brache Sparta', namely Chris Juraszek, has joined London Colney as Reserve Team Manager

Thanks for all the info.

The reason i asked was that i got hold of a old Cockfosters v Hanwell Town programe (A very good programe i must say) from the 2007/08 season and in the tables page it shows that Brache Sparta FC were in second place in Division 1 at the time.

Anyone know where they finished at the end of the 2007/08 season ?

At the end of the 2005/06 season having finished 2nd and won the Beds Senior Cup we had to tell the players that as we did not have the facilities in place we would not be promoted. This in turn cost £24000 in withdrawn sponsorship and a number of players moved. The Community thing was a farce based on a strange interpretation of the word "Community". Unsustantiated rumours and downright lies followed but because of the power based involved there was nothing to be done.Happy Days!!

A real shame because the club was a real force for many years. Always a game to look forward to but you knew it would be very tough.

I remember that well as I was with Haingey Borough at the time and they would have been relegated, along with Harpenden Town, if Brache had come up, I believe the Club felt they were robbed blind as the facilities at the Foxdell Recreation Ground seemed perfectly okay

No wonder your secretarial skills were never rewarded if you can't even spell the club's name correctly

As soon as Chris Juraszek took a back seat that was the beginning of the end for the Club, he was Brache Sparta

I was "forced" into being Brache Sparta purely because of the unique situation that Club was in.All I wanted to do was manage/coach a team. I learnt a lot of lessons which I think have stood me in good stead in other positions since which I have held and been partly responsible for the improvements for the better results gained at those clubs
