Grew up in Bush Hill Park but since emigrated to Royal Hertfordshire when I got married

Bush Hill Park, my old stomping ground too after moving from Islington.

 

A couple of ex enfield boys....i still live in enfield....due to football on a saturday i havent managed to get over to see the refurbed QE Stadium yet....used to spend a lot of my youth running round that track!

Southbury Road was the best tho, and the outside swimming baths, magic summers there during the school hols

Yes many a day in the summer holidays sat round that pool.....big old pool as well!

The long forgotten Southbury swimming pool. Great memories.

 

As for Southbury Road and The Stadium it breaks my heart driving past there now. But.....the future is bright for ETFC in the Ryman Premier and the QE.... although with the longer trips I may be spending a bit more time locally in the SSML though

Coming back to the topic of this thread, Langford must be laughing all the way to the bank at having got the plum Extra Preliminary Round tie everyone wanted, it will also put the Forde Park Club on the map:

I was a Ladysmith Rd lad and i Loved that pool, had it over the wall everytime though.. MM8 yeah Andy pape was the keeper top keeper as well went on to play for England non league side a few times as well.

Boys don't forget the starlight room at the old southbury road ground.

Ah the Starlight Rooms. When I was 21 the Friday night club night was magic (sure that it was over 25s at the time)

 

And The Town House is no more as well...Enfield has changed! Had some great nights in The TH

 

 

Back to Wembley and Langford in the FA Cup and it's reported in The Comet paper today that it will be live on ESPN with a 12.45pm kick off.... be great to see Langford ruin the party?

If only Adam Wombwell was still at Forde Park, it would be just like 'De Wallen' in Amsterdam or 'the Reeperbahn' and 'St Pauli' in Hamburg for being in the shop window wouldn't it
