We continued our winning streak with a comfortable win in a tricky fixture, and although Bognor threatened only briefly they gave us our sternest test for some weeks.

 

We took the lead after 14 minutes when John Martin reacted quickly to a Vinnie John header down from a Jude Sterling throw to drill the ball home from 8 yards with the Bognor defence caught ball watching. Bognor's Richard Hudson flashed a shot across goal in the 23rd minute when well placed but two minutes later we extended our lead through Adam Locke, who sent in a low shot from 25 yards following a break from defence and a lay back from Vinnie John.

 

At half time Bognor replaced a striker with a midfielder and pushed defender Robert Collins up front and for a while they had some good possession. Jamie Howells shot narrowly over from 18 yards on 66 minutes but they suffered a double blow when defender David Birmingham hobbled off injured followed a few minutes later by John Price who was sent for an early bath after pulling back Vinnie John when he would have been clear on goal. We continued to press forward and Jude Sterling and John Martin had efforts blocked and well saved respectively. We wrapped up the scoring on 90 minutes when Vinne John headed in rather easily at the far post from a Mark Graham free-kick.

Ref: "I have no other choice"
