Maidenhead United FC - The Union Flag

Nice to see we can have a laugh and a joke with our football neighbours. My brother sent them this email:

 

Sir,

 

I was somewhat concerned to see, when passing your ground today, that Maidenhead United FC are flying the Union Flag upside down from their flag poll !!

 

As you are no doubt aware this is a recognised singnal that one is in distress, but unless you fear you may be drawn against the mightly Slough Town in the premliminary round of the F A Cup next season and suffer the inevitable drubbing that such a draw would bestow upon the Magpies, I cannot possibly imagine what could have caused your cllub such concern.

 

If you need help urgently, let me know and I'll send for the cavalry.

What was the result of the flag 'poll' ? Perhaps you could put notices on poles about a poll of Poles !
