Bill in USA
You have talked about this on your forum before. Don't know if this really old news or not. Any comments? Thought the mention about Wembley is interesting. http://www.yourthanet.co.uk/sport/stones_urge_more_to_have_synthetic_pitches_1_1414700
michael
He obviously has his own agenda to promote this-the more clubs go'synthetic' -the better it is for Maidstone. That given-i completely agree with him-and i would love to see the 'delay'at MFC result in the positive benefit of a major change insofar as MFC decide (and can afford-pprobably the small amount of an additional £500K !!) to 'go plastic '
Eastside Urchin
it is totally feasible, over the space of 20 years it would save so much money, then some but the original outlay is too much for clubs. Ironically, after taking shit about our circumstance for years, those clubs who play in such arenas as our may well be the first clubs to benefit from 3g as the local councils should embrace it
michael
I read that the FA have sanctioned maidstone to play their home cup ties on their 3G pitch-that was to my mind the only potential stumbling block to having a 3G pitch. Well done Maidstone for taking that bold step-it has paid off already then-and their forward thinking will enable them to 'steal a march on all the other clubs in the area-and yes i am very jealous
Gerald Threegoals
All the discussion here seems to relate to the financial aspects. I know that plastic pitches have improved inordinately over the years, but I am still suspicious that they will have a detrimental effect on the quality of the football we watch, which is something that is in short supply already. And I still have a the scars from the one occasion I was "privileged" to play on the plastic at Luton........
I am Spartacus
Plastic pitches suit plastic players so sould go down well on the flood plains of Kent.
upthegate
At least maidstone have progressed in some way and good luck to them. We have stood still for far too long and its getting tiresome.

Tesco Bazza
Would could or should we go down this route? Surely it would generate more income than a hotel. The only problem I see is being able to climb the ladder anytime soon. Both fa cup and trophy games being permitted maybe the conference may relent. Maybe we will have to wait and see if maidstone start climbing the pyrimid the conference may let up.
