ETFC 2 Felixstowe & W Utd 0

There was only really likely to be one outcome and to be honest the pitch helped us make heavy weather of it and it wasn't until the end that Wayne Grant nailed the first closely followed by a peach of a goal from Jason Nash. The dust storm was really yuk.

Kevin Riley hobbled off crooked on the pitch and Felixstowes no 5.

Signed a new player Eddy Julu today too late for Vase but looks keen to get stuck in to the midfield for us.

Someone is disbelief asked where the grass had gone and one sharp wit said Basildon had got it.

Someone? Something?

If you see a job and want something done about it around here you do it yourself. If you wait for someone else you wait an aweful long time! Jim Chandler with the help of some friends temporarily put the shuttering up on the back of the current stand. It is only a temporary measure but like the rest of us he got tired waiting for the guys who talk the talk, but don't walk.

More than happy to help out; but I have no idea what can be done with the pitch; If u put a load of water on it i assume it will be a mud bath.

If we do not get seriuos rain soon; could we (I) water it ona saturday morning before a game; at least to dampen the dust down?

Apparently it's going to rain all next week,so the pitch should start looking better soon.

I think the best thing to do now........is try to get a 'pitch-watering' contingency plan in place for next season,to ensure it dosn't happen again.

Where is the rain we have been promised? Meant to be a wash out today yet sunny again. This month has been exceptionally dry. The pitch badly needs water. I agree that something must be done about it. However, it's too late to improve the situation this season.

What's more, I've just checked the five day forecast and it's due to remain dry and cold. No significant rain likely. At the weekend we were told this week would be unsettled. How long will this dry spell continue for? Could still be playing in a dust bowl at our next home game. Unbelievable for November.
