A lot of travelling.

Are the north and south divisions that much more of a higher standard than CCL reserve league? Probably no although there may be one or two better teams

They are slightly better based on my previous experiences.

The travelling is worth it to guarantee 3pm Kick offs and play at some decent grounds.

Premier B is pretty decent (surprised Uxbridge didn't go up as they won the division last season).

There's the Capital League who play midweek thus avoiding problems for groundshares. Can't comment on Merstham however.

We are considering applying to join the Capital League in 2013.

As I remember from my Aldershot Town days it is a strong League but not many teams - you end up playing once every 2 - 3 weeks.

the uxbridge reserve manager has got the 1st team job at Harefield i would imagine some players will go with him so thats why i think they didn't go up ;)

yes alot better standard in every way from grounds and having 2 linesmen and we have found that the suburban league games are good test for the 1st team squad players and enjoy playing in it but couldn't say the same with CCL reserve league

To Premier A I would imagine as Met Police have done. That is a much stronger league than the Premier B.

That's not a promotion though. Premier A and Premier B are both at the same level. They both count as supply leagues in refereeing circles. The Suburban League have split them based on their first teams which means you'd expect A to be stronger but Uxbridge and Farnborough have shown that's not always the case.

Youth football is run along the same lines. Teams like, dare I say, Camberley and, lately, Bedfont Sports can compete with youth teams linked to clubs much higher up the pyramid. Luckily the Ryman Youth League have opened up recently and allowed us to compete with the so called bigger clubs at under 18 level.

YV, yth team not to sure thinkin about it, this maybe the second season now they have gone without one. Dont see the sense in not having a ressies and yth side in my opinion. Good for the development of the youngers boy comin thru.

Very true GF, last season was a bit of a shambles with fixtures, they ended up adding a vase competition.. I think we (South Park) played chess and hook 6 times all in all! We would go 2 weeks without a game then have 3 in 7 days. Admittedly must be tricky organising reserve team fixtures for obvious reasons, but hopefully a bit more organised this season!

You played Chessington & Hook utd 5 times last season, twice in the league, as is the normal home & away,, and then you were drawn against them in the league cup, which was two legged for the first two rounds, as the leagues were cut in size. You then played them in the Shield, which was added as the fixtures were upto date when the league decided to run the shield and your club agreed to enter, and you were in the same group. Sorry you think it was a shambles regarding the fixtures, but as a reserve league we have to work round the 1st xi fixtures, and some saturdays there wasnt many grounds avl to use. there were times your secretary asked for you not to have a fixture so you could support the 1st xi in the vase...

i am sure the fxture manager will attempt to do a better job next season

For the sake of clarity my "lack of fixtures" comment concerned the Capital League which LF had suggested. As an example Chertsey Reserves played just 18 League fixtures in the Capital League last season - South Park had 8 more in the Suburban League.
