........... and now we learn it is confirmed that M.V. District Council are going to erect, (there's that word again), 15 metre high white olympic rings on the top of Boxhill, near the 'Viewpoint'.

These will then be taken down after the para-olympics.

More cost !!!!!!

How much are they charging local Residents to watch the Cycling. These Olympics really bug me,for the past few years us Londoners have been paying extra Council Tax for the bloody thing, the cost has come in £450 million under budget at £8.9 billion, was originally costed at £2.8 BILLION,think they need to check their maths.A local school has been given 5 free tickets, wait for it,to the Weightlifting preliminaries, which are everyones cup of tea.Probably be like the O2,A LOSS LEADER UNTIL IT FINALLY GETS SOLD OF CHEAP TO PRIVATE FOREIGN INVESTORS.Like our Banks,Gas,Electricity,Buses,Trains,Football Clubs,BUILDING SHIPS,PLANES,TRAINS,used to be our forte, not anymore though.

To be quite honest, Peter, I don't really know.

I DO know that all reserved tickets on Box Hill have been sold, and there will be extra parking around Dorking, AT A COST TO BE DECIDED....

What bugs me is that since the Olympic Committee routed the race through Dorking, we are innundated with bikers rushing round everywhere, totally ignoring the laws of the road. A couple of my bar-mates tell me they treat these loons as 'fair-game' on the road as they have NO Insurance and NO road tax.....

We then have the Olympic Ladies race after the mens race, and THEN there is to be a National race later in the year, ALSO routed through Dorking.

On the three race days, Dorking town is effectively cut off to people living, like myself, in the outlying villages.

THIS CONCLUDES TODAYS RANT !

The rain made the scarves look pretty poor. They were left up during the good weather. Stop moaning bjr you can still get to the spotted. The club and the offie will be accessible and there will be a lot of female arses wriggling their way past meadowbank.

This rant is because your back garden got turned down for the ladies beach volleyball training complex isn't it?

I told you two sheets of grade a sandpaper and a couple of beach balls from the factory shop wasn't going to hack it.

NOPE - I didn't recognise any of the names from the list.

I see that in areas where the torch has already been carried, torch-bearers have been CHANGED at the late 'request' of various corporate sponsors.

So much for fairness in 'sport'.

Our garden HAS been put on the short-list as a practice ground for the 'All Countries Over 90's Open Nude Leap-Frog' teams !

Tickets to view, now available.......

:bolt:

Same here, am not watching the Olympics.

Good luck to Team GB (what a crap name by the way - sounds too Americanised, like Team Bath etc.) but there's too much dirty politics in it for me to appreciate it.

I feel sorry for the locals in East London, they'll be priced out of the local hosing market there. I know that a lot of the lower income tenants there have been moved to Stoke and other parts of the UK (can't have riff raff upsetting Lord Coe and pals can we?)

Don't start me on the Olympics! Tempted to go away for the weekend of 28/29 July to avoid it all round here. Dread to think what state Box Hill will be in come July 30th!

Well here you go folks.

Who said M.V.D.C. was short of a bob or two ??

Maybe they're the secret backers N.G. reckon we're going to get - NOT !!

I have to admit, I was dubious when I saw the plans for the cycling statue to be placed on the 'Denbies' roundabout to commerorate the two days of road racing !

HOWEVER.....

Having seen it, I must say I find it very tasteful and a fitting tribute.

it looks a lot better than the cock! in fact i was surprised during the road race how little coverage the cock got. i thought we'd get lots of close-ups of the cock and hilarious comments about silly it looks. then again, maybe we get enough of that with all the coverage of boris johnson.
