I thought Non League Football wasn't about the money?

Recommended Posts

I am new to all of this Facebook-Twitter malarky. But even being new to it,I have picked up a few things.

Obviously I follow the clubs Twitter Account, from which I have fathomed out which players are who.

I don't know I any of you have seen some of the tweets from today, but why is one of our players discussing how much they are earning on twitter?

Ok,the amount isn't actually given but a comment from BigRick something or other suggests that "negotiations have broken down" citing a difference of £25 as the stumbling block.

Also he claims that there are 3 players he knows earning more.Does this surprise anyone?

If someone was to say Tuohy, smith and Anderson were being paid more I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

In my mind if a player is squabbling over £25 a week, then get rid now before it becomes a problem. This sort of stuff going on twitter behind the managements back seems only to Stoke a situation that needs no stoking.

Thankfully, we're fans and we don't really have to worry about that.

One of the difficult situations that Colin and Jimmy will have to deal with - I'd imagine it's not easy running a football club especially at this level.

I have seen it,i didnt want to retweet it for a couple of reasons.

I am sure that Jimmy will see this post,he may want me to remove it if negotiations with the player are ongoing,so if it does go off, then you know why.

Its a shame as i would like a settled team but we are a Non League Football club with an average gate of around 300 and we can't throw money at it like other clubs and i am happy with that,£25 does seem like a small amount but it adds up and if the club take a stance then i am 100% behind them as i am sure others are.We have to cut our cloth accordingly.

Twitter is such alot of plus points but it looks like alot of negatives on the flip side.

If we were to loan say a player from League 1 who foots the wages?

Twitter is 99% plus, the positivity we have had from it so far can only benefit the club,i have had over 50 people asking me when our next game is,trials, enquiries about tickets etc

Yes it does have its down side but if players put tweets such as this out, thats upto them.

Don't know who foots the bill with regards to league one players, why you got someone in mind kimbs???

I was just thinking from a money saving point of view - now we play at a decent level I'm sure the likes of Wham,Orient,Southend etc may well have be interested in loaning squad players to ourselves....if their own clubs foot the bill then it could only benefit us

I would understand if this was taken off.

I know my previous post last week was off a critical nature but it was intended, like this post to be constructive.

I didn't expect to see this on twitter,I thought some players would keep this in house.

Wage demands however how low,I thought were a trait if the professional game, how wrong I was.
