Most travelled for a football match

Not if your aim is to see a football match at a football ground

Well that’s not the be all and end all is it, surely the main objective is to go to the ground whether you see a match or not

Yet again, off the original topic. I only asked a simple question and straight away into a slanging match.

Goodbye to you all.

Who on here lays claim to having been to the most SSMFL grounds? Past and present....

I've not got many to do from the present grounds. Been to Crawley Green but not Barton Rovers and Jubilee Park but not the Hidden Gem for Kingsbury. Where are Wolverton playing? Is it the one next to the railway? Far too many old grounds to think off but I'm sure there are a few on here to beat me

Jonno - It's probably general football anoraks such as Football Man or Sjj2112 who have no doubt 'done all 92' in SSML terms

AFC Dunstable held its Tournament over the weekend and a team from India travelled 7,000 miles to take part.

It went very well.

They saw our Tournament advertised when they were in the country and applied to play in it. We have now kept in touch with them and they will be sending another team in August to play some friendlies.

3 hours after landing in UK after a 26 hour flight back from Australia and I was playing for St Margaretsbury (Sundays). Halfway through second both calves cramped simultaneously and that was the end of the game for me. Had already scored though...

Can't be arsed to work the mileage but its a long way!

Haringey Borough Women recently went to Abu Dhabi for a tournament, that must give India a run for its money:

Borough Women are delighted to have been invited to be one of six teams to participate in a 5 a side Womens Tournament in Abu Dhabi from 26th to 31st May. Borough will be competing in 40 minute games on a “round robin” basis against two sides from the United Arab Emirates and one each from Jordan, Hungary and Uzbekistan.

The Tournament is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the United Arab Emirates FA Womens Committee. The teams will be accommodated at the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel in Abu Dhabi and all matches will be played on a pitch within its grounds.

Borough have been invited as winners of the “Unity Cup” Womens 5 a side Tournaments in London in both 2010 and 2011. The “Unity Cup” is an annual event started in 2007 as a commemoration of the 7/7 London bombings and brings together London's communities, social and corporate organisations and UK Government Departments. The core aim is to encourage the crossing of ethnic and religious barriers and to unite against terrorism, extremism and Islamophobia by bringing together young people of all religious, ethnic and social backgrounds through football to create a better world through the global appeal of the game.
