Personally,i couldnt give two hoots if billericay won the league,both have gone up and if i knew beforehand that we would of won the play offs i would have taken that route just to get a bit more bunce through the club and have another couple of top home games.

The whole winning the play off experience can only benefit the club,you may of come first but we played in the bigger games lol

That's a good point r, those 2 play off games also brought a few old faces through the gate too and maybe a few others who (hopefully) will come back in the forthcoming season.

Good point from EU, first and second both go up and we got a few quid extra from the playoff games.

Yes I would love to have finished 2nd playing in front of 200 every week with a couple of games watched by mostly neutrals at the end of the season.

Er we had over 1400 at the final,more than your highest crowd,which I believe was against us.Anyway,us finishing nowhere in 2nd has got us in exactly the same position as you finishing 1st,conference south football.Try gloating at canvey fans where you actually have one up on them

2000 odd extra through the turnstiles on the playoffs, similar sized trophy to Billericay, the excitement of Hx getting the winning goal late on in the final, crowd of over 2400 away at Grimbsy and a lot of entertaining football along the way (not always admittedly). To be honest I'm not exactly heartbroken to only finish second (apart from the aforementioned tea in the final).

Equals ? We went up as CHAMPIONS, you went up via the lottery with a very fortunate win against Lowestoft.

1st time since play offs started that all 3 second placed teams got promoted.

That's the way it should be, so we went up on MERIT. = FACT

1st=Promotion, 2nd=Promotion - Difference not very much.

 

Anyway, back to the subject, it does show that if we can hang on to most of our players and perhaps strengthen in a couple of areas, we could do okay next season.

As always, it depends on finances.

If we were to have postponements and end up with long Tuesday night games they will need a day off.
