Eastside Urchin
There is alot to do this Pre Season,so we are having a Stadium Clear up Weekend this year. It will start from around 9am Saturday 28th July for a few hours and then all back the next day (Sunday 29th) july for more work. Obviously the more people that turn up on the Saturday, the more chance we have of getting alot done and hopefully a reasonably light workload on the Sunday, however we do have a Pre Season game on the 28th away at Canvey so many of us will probably shut up shop around lunchtime to go to the match so the sunday we will probably all be needed. Please come along to help no matter what you can do,there will be things for people of all ages and abilities to do. thanks rob

bridgefan
Hi everyone Just a reminder that the Stadium Clear up weekend is next weekend (i.e. Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th) As per Rob's original post (above) we will be starting at 9am Saturday (and stopping when people have to depart for the Canvey game) and then back to finish off the work on Sunday (again starting at 9am) All help (and any cleaning equipment e.g. brooms) will be greatly appreciated - it doesn't matter what you can/can't do Please can as many people come along as possible and show your support for the club - remember many hands make light work Thanks

cup of tea
For me. the hero of the day was the 87 year old bloke who worked tirelessly all day - not just the easy jobs either - he was sweeping all the stands, even through the rain and didn't complain once. Maybe Alan Fenn, self-appointed champion of the elderly can pay for him to go swimming or explain to him why AFC Hornchurch is an extravagence.
