HERTFORD TOWN CIRCUS CONTINUES...

Recommended Posts

This happens nearly every season to a few clubs in the SSML renegade. A manager gets a bit of attention from another chairman or club or decides that he isn't valued, turns his head a bit, starts complaining of no h'ambition, takes his team with him either en masse or other players start smelling the coffee and showing absolutely no loyalty whatsoever sort themselves out somewhere else to play. If it wasn't Hertford this year it might be another club or clubs playing musical chairs and the fans and committees who pay for grounds, kit and hospitality and beer pick up the pieces or grumble.

Personally I sometimes wonder whats in it for the clubs, this entertaining of young men who's sport and enjoyment they jump through hoops and sweat blood to put on for them and their egos.

Loose i agree with alot of the points you have made but this situation is somewhat different ....3 managers in a season 1 chairman in then out, lease on ground due to expire, mounting debt because of reduced gates and profits behind bars etc not because its being payed to players with big ego's many played for the club because of its atmosphere and fan base of which both have crumbled under the new regime....

Start getting a committee and funding together to make an approach for the lease!

Are you saying that the election of the current committee was illegal, underhand, fixed etc?

well by all accounts positions had already been decided prior the AGM so take what you want from that

So you weren't at the AGM or you witnessed people just going on with the seconding and voting?

So you didn't go to the AGM, don't know how these people are appointed, whether by Committee or members vote and you are the one moaning.

Nah, not even Five-Oh renegade, it's not rocket science is it?

My point is renegade that you are stirring. You've specifically joined this forum to bad mouth the club we both support before a ball has even been kicked, and yet you think that is justified criticism. I couldn't give a stuff where pre-season training is as long as the team starts winning.

With regard to the chairman I think you'll find that the board isn't 3/4s of his family... 3 people out of 16? He may not be a business man but he works hard and has the club at heart, there's enough business acumen on the committee. You don't have to be mates with Ossie Ardiles to know about football or how to run a club.

Raising money is always an issue at every club in this league that doesn't have a sugar daddy. It's funny you should say about the previous chairman because he was the reason your friend Chinola left. Yes Scott made his thoughts clear to the board but he didn't take constructive criticism well either - an email from said Chairman & telling a septuagenarian to f*** off because he pointed out something all us fans could see! Anyways that's all in the past and I don't have a problem with Scott.

If you were at the AGM you would know that everyones position was announced for re-election, nobody voted against it & all the members who aren't on the board said nothing. The secretary didn't receive any applications from anyone else outside the committee so what were they supposed to do?? Loose - The club constitution was based on one from the FA & has been passed by the Herts FA in order for the club to achieve the Charter Standard.

There is no mounting debt, the figures were announced at the AGM that there was money in the account from pitch hires and soon to be more once the club starts selling advertising and sponsorship. If you want to see mounting debt you only have to look at other local clubs...

If the people in charge wanted to grind the club into the ground why would they bother going for Charter Standard? Why work with Hertford Town Youth for the future of the club? Why work with the local/district council to promote the club and sort the lease? And finally why are they soon to be working with the job centre to help unemployed people with references?

It seems to me that people don't like change, even if it's for better or for worse.

That is what I would have thought. I was surprised that such an obviously well meaning and informed poster such as renegade couldn't lay his hand on one to substantiate his claim.

I've avidly searched my post for any indication that I've said that he can't post what he wants Savagebee.

My point is merely that renegade seems quite close to the club and well informed but that I am unsure that any of the Hertford management read this forum and will discuss his issues here directly so back in the box please Miss Sharp!

Ok clever boy :grinarse:

Hold the back page with Savagebee, Loose.

He is one poster on here i would say has not got an ulterior motive in any of his posts - top fella imo and his loyalty to Hanwell and non league football in general should be admired

I think you maybe came rushing to the aid of a "new" poster who seemed more than able to speak up for himself Savagebee but whilst I didn't think I'd told him he had no rights to post I didn't take to his accusations of Hertford. When you see for yourself at first hand what has to go into running a club at the getting your hands and not just your boots dirty level, and fail miserably then you tend to have some sympathy with the people who stick heads above the parapet to do it and don't always deserve the faceless and as it turns out unfounded accusations in this case.

Beers all round!
