HERTFORD TOWN CIRCUS CONTINUES...

Recommended Posts

Rumours are circulating that players have been told to report for pre-season training in Hainult forest....i thought hertford was in hertfordshire ? hainult in essex ? Surely there are hills and forest 2 mins from the club ? or is this because there is no one from hertfordshire playing for the club anymore ? It seems HTFC has completley lost its identity !!

This wouldnt be so bad if it was merely a change of scenery for the players but by all accounts this is not the case and will be the regualr venue for training...farcical in my mind. Que the last 4 or 5 players that have any relation to the club heading for the door. Good work Mr Samuels your have improved the club no end haha !!

Goes to prove football clubs should not be run by people with no/very little football knowledge.

That's a bit harsh. We have used many places away from Hoddesdon for pre season sessions, including Donkey Lane in Enfield, Ally Pally and the David Beckham academy at the O2. I'm sure as the season approaches things will become more local for Hertford! Local players playing for their local team has been on the decline for a long time and is not a recent phenomenon. I reckon 70% of our squad last season came from inside the M25.

harsh in what respect ?? with all due respect hoddesdon are a slightly different situation as you are hampered by the cricket club and like i said if it was the for the occasional change of scenery then fair enough.

The players that have spoken to me regarding this situation are enfield based and have said they wont be going and nor should they HTFC no longer pay players and to then be expected to make the pig of the journey along the m25 at your own cost instead of flying 10 mins down the a10 to hertford is not on. Shouldnt be a problem for 3/4 of the other players they can all be found local to hackney marshes.

Lol ref, good point! Did the lads frequent any of the exotic bars and clubs that's can be found on the Sussex coast?

Renegade, it's early days. See what the season brings.

LOL Jonno, obviously I cannot let CB's secret training sessions become public knowledge but I'm lead to believe they took on plenty of fluids at frequent intervals and that any extra time games they endure next season will have been taken on board too as they went te extra mile and had 'marathon sessions'.

Must be top secret too as my lad couldn't remember a thing, haha

...or how to spell Hainault

I know the area well, I used to live nearby in Chigwell & did a few pre-seasons there with Romford & Barkingside when I played. John Lyall used to take West Ham there for pre-season as well.

Hainault could though be beneficial for players who workbin London. Just down the central line & easy to make for 7pm before it gets too dark. As for Hertfordshire venues, I always thought Royston Heath was excellent for pre-season, but maybe too far out for commuters.

Our lot are off to Marbella for a bonding session at the end of June. God help them.

Od's sounds like a properly run football club, maybe transitionperiod should take note. S**t stirring has nothing to do with it, merely pointing out facts that HTFC is a shambles. Good people have left both from on and off the field yet no one has done anything about it and anyone who is anyone can see that it is no coincidence.

What makes me really laugh is that the new chairman has been selected and voted into position by the board which just so happens to be 3/4s of his family, im not denying that these people are nice people but just goes to prove my original comment regarding people running football clubs who dont know football or have any business acumen. Looks to me like constructive justfied critism is not taken too kindly by those in positions of authority at HTFC is that right transition period??

I guess the saturday morning boot camps on the ploughed field behind the ground have been raising plenty of revenue ? As well as the end of season presentation night/do which is guaranteed to raise £1000s, whoops wait it was a quick drink in the bar after the last home game of which the bar was empty by 7pm. This all deserves a huge pat on the back to those concerned supposedly trying to do the best for HTFC. It is clear as to why Mike Varney was outed (he put alot of you in your places with justified critism again you didnt like this, yes maybe there were slight hidden agendas however for the few downsides there were alot of pluses also)

This also goes to show as to why Scott O'Donoghue was not reappointed as it was known he also made his thoughts clear of what the board should and shouldnt be doing (again constructive critism, not liked). A decent young local manager working with no budget, bringing in decent local players keeping the clubs identity and also raising a hell of alot of funds for the club off the field with decent business savvy and COMMON SENSE.

Wake up your becoming the laughing stock of the SSML. This transition period is nothing short of a joke and the reality is it could all be too late and that would be a huge shame to anyone that has been associated to the club

You do seem to have an agenda renegade. How have you got on raising these issues with the people involved?

Or is this the manner you have chosen to communicate your displeasure?

I hope Hertford Town do well next season it will be interesting to see how they do with so many changes at the club in recent times.

and there was me thinking that all members had the chance to vote for positions on the comittee and chairmanship etc yet suprisingly this had all taken place prior to the AGM ....Very strange transition period wouldnt you agree ? considering you seem to be of the opinion the club is being run properly ! Very underhand id say, given you were unimpressed by similar tactics deployed by My Varney.

Thanks for the kind words..

If this is true about Hainault then I am sure a few local players will swerve it and Hertford could lose their last few "local" players.

Good luck to the club...you live and die by decisions and the committee seem determined to drive the club forward in the way they think best...football is about opinions and they are in charge...

Lets re-assess the "Hertford Town Circus" in 6 months time...Renegade could be hiding from this forum but my gut feeling tells me ...

I will happily come on here in 6 months time and eat humble pie if i have too and apologise to those concerened. Like you rightly say Chinola watch this space but your not the only one who has his doubts. I for one do hope this dire situation at the club can be resolved it would be an awful shame if it wasnt.

I've avidly searched my post for any indication that I've said that he can't post what he wants Savagebee.

My point is merely that renegade seems quite close to the club and well informed but that I am unsure that any of the Hertford management read this forum and will discuss his issues here directly so back in the box please Miss Sharp!

Renegade I would ask whether there is anything the current know nothings are bringing to the club or have brought to benefit Hertford because I sincerely doubt that their sole intention is to drive the club into the ground?

I'm just interacting with you since you don't seem yet to have any answers towards a resolution of your issues so far.
