There was a rare sighting of the species, the anoraked "DANNYUS RIDINIGUS WHITE VANUS" along with mate walking on a pavement in Dane valley road after dark. This is indeed a rare siting as this species, as the name hints usually is seen flitting around the area in a white vanus, is normally safely tucked up in it's nest at this time. I have seen this van nestled 1/2 on the pavement and 1/2 off in a certain area (which I shall not divulge as I have no wish to have the area of presumed nesting, flooded with over excited fellow twitches wishing to see the rare occurrence i was privileged to see last night). Is this the nest,if so i have no wish to disturb its rearing of any chicks or the spoil mating rituals if looking to have a second brood.
